Fractal structure of the positive free-air gravity anomalies within the Balkan Peninsula
The investigations of the fractal structure and properties of the different geophysical elements is new and fast developing area of research among the geophysical society. The fractal properties of the earthquake clusters, faults and folds at different scale, even the plutonic bodies and other elements of the positive landforms are the most exploited areas of research. In our caste the special attention is paid to the gravity field (free-air anomalies) as the most expressive element of the surface elevated structures and their influence to the relief. The Balkan Peninsula is well known as the one of the most variable Earth’s surface elevation area in the world. The fractal properties of gravity field in such area could be useful to try to establish formal relationships to the surface elevation, as well as to prove the possibility to get some information about the self-organization and the origin of the mountain landforms in the same area
Relaxed submonotone mappings
The notions of relaxed submonotone and relaxed
monotone mappings in Banach spaces are introduced and many of their properties are investigated. For example, the Clarke subdifferential of a locally Lipschitz function in a separable Banach space is relaxed submonotone on a residual subset. For
example, it is shown that this property need not be valid on the whole space. We prove, under certain hypotheses, the surjectivity of the relaxed monotone mappings
Forecasting of air pollution with time series and multiple regression models in Sofia, Bulgaria
Air pollution is one of the serious environmental problems. The high concentrations of particulate matter can have a serious impact over human health and ecosystems, especially in highly urbanized areas. In this regard, the present study employs a combined ARIMA-Multiple Linear Regression modelling approach for forecasting particulate matter content. The capital city of Bulgaria is used as case study. A regression analysis techniques are used to study the relationship between particulate matter concentration and basic meteorological variables – air temperature, solar radiation, wind speed, wind direction, atmospheric pressure. The adequacy of the models has been proven by examining the behavior of the residues. The synthesized time series model can be used for forecasting, monitoring and controlling the air quality conditions. All analyzes and calculations were performed with statistical software STATGRAPHICS
Modelling of Fed-batch Fermentation Process with Droppings for L-lysine Production
The aim of the article is the development of dynamic unstructured model of L-lysine fed-batch fermentation process with droppings. This approach includes the following procedures: description of the process by generalized stoichiometric equations; preliminary data processing; identification of the specific rates (growth rate (mu) , substrate utilization rate (nu), production rate (rho); establishment and optimization of the dynamic model of the process; simulation researches
