By engaging senses, spaces, and slowed temporalities, education fosters generative uncertainty, reflexivity, and care. Principles of design, implications for teacher education, assessment, and policy are discussed, with attention to justice and inclusion, to create environments where transition becomes livable and transformation sustainable
Dual Career: student-athletes, sport and school dropout
This study examines the phenomenon of dropout, i.e. dropping out, in both the sports and school environments among student athletes. The main objective is to identify and analyse the factors contributing to this complex phenomenon, which has a significant impact on the personal and professional development of young athletes. Through a review of existing literature and analysis of empirical data, the research explores the interconnections between sporting pressures, academic challenges and socio-psychological factors that influence dropout decisions. In addition, the study examines the short- and long-term consequences of dropout, both on an individual and societal level. Finally, targeted strategies and interventions are proposed to prevent dropout and promote a healthy balance between sport and education in order to support the success and well-being of student athletes.
Doppia carriera: studenti-atleti, sport e abbandono scolastico e sportivo.
Questo studio esamina il fenomeno del dropout, ovvero l’abbandono, sia nell’ambito sportivo che in quello scolastico, tra gli studenti atleti. L’obiettivo principale è identificare e analizzare i fattori che contribuiscono a questo fenomeno complesso, che ha un impatto significativo sullo sviluppo personale e professionale dei giovani atleti. Attraverso una revisione della letteratura esistente e l’analisi di dati empirici, la ricerca esplora le interconnessioni tra le pressioni sportive, le sfide accademiche e i fattori socio-psicologici che influenzano le decisioni di abbandono. Inoltre, lo studio esamina le conseguenze del dropout a breve e lungo termine, sia a livello individuale che sociale. Infine, vengono proposte strategie e interventi mirati per prevenire il dropout e promuovere un equilibrio sano tra sport e istruzione, al fine di supportare il successo e il benessere degli studenti atleti
INSTRUMENTOS LEGAIS PARA A GESTÃO DE RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS URBANOS NA UNIVERSIDADE ESTADUAL DE MARINGÁ
A problemática em que os resíduos sólidos se encontram, refere-se às dificuldades para o correto gerenciamento dos mesmos. Diversas instituições, sejam elas públicas ou privadas tem mantido esforços para com a responsabilidade que carregam sobre os resíduos que geram. Algumas destas instituições, são as instituições de ensino, que cada vez mais se destacam na resolução da problemática. Essa pesquisa teve como objetivo elencar os instrumentos legais de gestão de resíduos sólidos urbanos aplicáveis a Universidade Estadual de Maringá, localizada em Maringá, Paraná. A instituição selecionada é a maior instituição do ramo localizada no município de Maringá, portanto, os resultados aqui apontados se estendem à outras instituições do tipo localizadas na cidade de Maringá. Para tanto, analisou-se o arcabouço legal disponível nas três dimensões do poder, sendo elas municipal, estadual e federal. Os dados foram obtidos por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica. Os resultados atingidos possibilitaram saber quais instrumentos específicos devem ser observados para a instalação e operação de iniciativas que busquem gerenciar os resíduos sólidos urbanos em instituições de ensino localizadas em Maringá, sobretudo a selecionada para o estudo. Além disso, o estudo possibilitou uma análise sobre os instrumentos municipais para o gerenciamento de resíduos sólidos
Diagnostic issues faced by a rare disease healthcare network during Covid-19 outbreak: data from the Campania Rare Disease Registry
Background: The aims of this study were: to investigate the capacity of the rare disease healthcare network in Campania to diagnose patients with rare diseases during the outbreak of Covid-19; and to shed light on problematic diagnoses during this period.
Methods: To describe the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the diagnosis of patients with rare diseases, a retrospective analysis of the Campania Region Rare Disease Registry was performed. A tailored questionnaire was sent to rare disease experts to investigate major issues during the emergency period.
Results: Prevalence of new diagnoses of rare disease in March and April 2020 was significantly lower than in 2019 (117 versus 317, P < 0.001 and 37 versus 349, P < 0.001, respectively) and 2018 (117 versus 389, P < 0.001 and 37 versus 282, P < 0.001, respectively). Eighty-two among 98 rare disease experts completed the questionnaire. Diagnostic success (95%), access to diagnosis (80%) and follow-up (72%), lack of Personal Protective Equipment (60%), lack of Covid-19 guidelines (50%) and the need for home therapy (78%) were the most important issues raised during Covid-19 outbreak.
Conclusions: This study describes the effects of the Covid-19 outbreak on the diagnosis of rare disease in a single Italian region and investigates potential issues of diagnosis and management during this period

DEVELOPING MOTOR SKILLS AND STIMULATING THE MOTIVATION OF STUDENTS IN PRIMARY SCHOOL THROUGH A DIDACTIC PROPOSAL BASED ON PHYSICAL LITERACY
Physical literacy is a vital component of child development, as it
supports motor skills, confidence, and motivation toward an active
lifestyle. This experimental study investigates the progress in
physical literacy among primary school students using the CAPL-2
(Canadian Assessment of Physical Literacy), a tool enabling
comprehensive assessment of motor skills and motivation, both
crucial for a healthy lifestyle. A sample of 60 pupils aged 8-10
participated in a 12-week program supervised by a qualified physical
education teacher. The qualitative and quantitative analyses
revealed significant improvements in students' motor skills and
motivation, highlighting the importance of structured, inclusive
programs to sustainably foster physical literacy
