The effect of femtosecond laser treatment on the tribological properties of titanium nitride

    Get PDF
The influence of femtosecond laser (fs-laser) processing on the structural-phase state of titanium nitride (TiN) coatings have been studied. It has been revealed using scanning electron microscopy and scanning probe microscopy that laser-induced periodic surface structures form on TiN coating surfaces. Depending on the laser scanning direction, two types of surface structures - parallel and cross-like ones have been obtained. Tribological tests showed that cross-like structures demonstrates better wear resistance properties in a dry friction, while parallel ones in a friction with lubricant

The influence of laser micro- and nanostructuring on the wear resistance of Grade-2 titanium surface

    Get PDF
The development of wear-resistant surfaces supports sustainable and long-term work of friction couples. In this paper, we demonstrated laser structuring as a method for increasing Grade-2 titanium surface wear resistanc

Effect of plastic deformation on the structure and properties of the Ti/TiB composite produced by spark plasma sintering

A Ti/17 vol % TiB composite material is produced by spark plasma sintering of a mixture of titanium and 10 wt % TiB2 powders at a temperature of 1000°C. Multiaxial isothermal forging is performed at t = 850°C to enhance the mechanical properties of the composit

Dimerization in Honeycomb Na2RuO3 under Pressure: a DFT Study

The structural properties of Na2RuO3 under pressure are studied using density functional theory within the nonmagnetic generalized gradient approximation (GGA). We found that one may expect a structural transition at ∼3 GPa. This structure at the high-pressure phase is exactly the same as the low-temperature structure of Li2RuO3 (at ambient pressure) and is characterized by the P21/m space group. Ru ions form dimers in this phase and one may expect strong modification of the electronic and magnetic properties in Na2RuO3 at pressure higher than 3 GPa. © 2018, Pleiades Publishing, Inc

Structure and corrosion properties of stainless steel after high-power ion beam processing

    Get PDF
In this study, the surfaces of AISI 321 stainless steel samples were irradiated with one shot of a high-power ion beam (HPIB) at pulse energy densities of 1 and 3 J/cm2. The surface morphology and structural-phase state in the near-surface layers of the treated samples were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy and electron backscatter diffraction. Additionally, the influence of HPIB processing on the resistance to intergranular corrosion was investigated using electrochemical experiment

Foreign language competence of the future pedagogues

    Get PDF
Analysis of the foreign language competence at the current stage of development of higher pedagogical education becomes more and more topical. In this paper the requirements of the federal educational standards of pedagogical education and the professional standard of a pedagogue to formation of the foreign language competence in students mastering the non-linguistic pedagogical specialties are specified. Analysis of understanding of the foreign language competence by researchers has been performed; the author's structure of the foreign language competence of future pedagogues is presented. The following sub-competences are distinguished as its structural components: linguistic, discursive, colloquial, pragmatic, information-technological, strategic, socio-cultural, personal-creative. The result of analysis of the level of development of the foreign language competence structural elements and kingdoms of results of analysis of the level of development of the foreign language competence structural elements in students of the first and second courses of non-linguistic pedagogical specialties are presented. It was established that the level of such structural elements of the foreign language competence as linguistic, discursive, colloquial, pragmatic, information-technological, strategic, socio-cultural, personal-creative sub-competences in students of sample being considered fall within the advanced level of development. The strategic sub-competence representing the ability to use the verbal and nonverbal communication strategies for compensation of the missing knowledge in the conditions of the linguistic communication as well as abilities relating to the linguistic creativity fall within the area of the optimal level of development which necessitates creation of the psychologicalpedagogical conditions for development thereof

Theoretical conformational analysis of substituted nitroethenes in solution

Theoretical conformational analysis of 1-nitro- and 1-bromo-1-nitro-2- (trichloromethyl)ethenes dissolved in methylene chloride and benzene was carried out by the B3LYP/6-31G*method. The calculated structures of these compounds were found to nicely fit experiment: Both in the gas phase and in solution, 1-nitro-(2-trichloromethyl)ethene is an E isomer, while its bromine-containing analog is a Z isomer. © 2008 MAIK Nauka
