    Utilization of terahertz spectroscopy for optical behavior determination of recycled modified HDPE

    Little research was done to investigate possible utilization of irradiated materials after the end of their lifetime. This research paper deals with the possible utilization of irradiated high-density polyethylene (HDPEx) after its service life. Irradiated HDPE was used as filler into the virgin low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Three material combinations were investigated (powder/powder, granules/powder and granules/grit) and influence of the filler on optical behavior was measured. Terahertz spectroscopy at wide range of frequencies was used for refractive index determination. According to measured data there is significant influence by the amount of the filler. Moreover influence of particle size was also observed. All three combinations have similar curve courses; however the most consistent results were achieved at the powder/powder combination. Behavior of virgin LDPE and virgin HDPE is in correlation with previous findings

    In the present work we study the possibility of measurment ATP content in inactive fish sperm. The samples were measured after demembranation of the fish sperm using the method of chemiluminscence by luciferin-luciferase. Light emission was measured by TECAN Infinite 200 in the mode of luminscence. Content of ATP was calculated and amount of ATP in nM to 10 8 sperm cells is shown in the result of the work. For our work we chose Cyprinus carpio and Acipenser baeri as model organisms

    Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy for distinguishing different kinds of gunpowder

    This article contains information about using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy for the security industry, particularly for distinguishing chosen different kinds of gunpowder. The original focus of described research was the observation of characteristic spectrum of gunpowder (spectral fingerprint) in the terahertz range of the electromagnetic spectrum to use the terahertz radiation for gunpowder detection and identification. The results of this research lead to the finding that researched samples of gunpowder do not have any characteristic spectral lines or peaks in the terahertz range of the electromagnetic spectrum up to 2 THz. However, the comparison of samples of different kinds of gunpowder proves the possibility of their distinguishing by their absorbance (absorption spectrum). Introduction information about motivation of authors, methods of measurement, samples preparation, results of measurements with their interpretation and discussion about the results with conclusion are the main parts of this article

    Distinguishing of different kinds of gunpowder using various methods based on terahertz radiation

    This article provides information about using terahertz radiation based methods such as time-domain spectroscopy, ATR spectroscopy and terahertz reflection imaging for distinguishing of different kinds of gunpowder. The findings in this article prove that gunpowder does not have any sharp peaks in terahertz region of electromagnetic spectrum up to 2.5 THz, but also prove that distinguishing of different kinds of gunpowder is possible using different methods based on terahertz radiation. All presented results are connected to absorbance of gunpowder and other measured materials, because comparison of absorbance analysis is essential for distinguishing of gunpowder samples
