The modeling of building reliability of Menara Kudus mosque based on user perception
The Menara Kudus Mosque is one of the oldest mosque building sites in Central Java which became the center of Islamic development in Java by Walisongo, especially Sunan Kudus. The condition of the building of this mosque is still functioning properly because of the physical condition of the well-maintained building. The Menara Kudus Mosque is considered to have a good level of building reliability and resistance to all loading. Besides being reliable in terms of physical buildings, the mosque building which is the result of acculturation of local culture show tolerance and harmony of religious people. The architectural style that adopts the Hindu, Buddhist, and Javanese style of the building makes this building show Islam as a religion that supports peace and harmony in society. This study aims to make the modeling of the reliability of the Menara Kudus Mosque building based on user perceptions. The respondents who were targeted by questionnaires were mosque users, namely pilgrims who knew the development of the mosque. The data analysis method used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with architectural and structural variables as exogenous variables, stability as moderator variable, and reliability as endogenous variable. The results of the analysis show that the two exogenous variables have a positive effect on the moderator and endogenous variable. The relationship between endogenous variable with moderator variable shows significant effects
The assessment of building facilities reliability of Islamic boarding school in Sidogiri Pasuruan
The Islamic boarding school in Sidogiri Pasuruan East Java develops Islamic religious education which is very important for the improvement of Indonesian human resources. This Islamic boarding school has several supporting facilities to support the implementation of teaching and learning activities for its santri (students). This study aims to assess the reliability of the building facilities of Islamic Boarding Schools in Sidogiri Pasuruan by considering the user perceptions, namely ustads (teachers) and santri (students). The object of the research is the main room of the mosque, which is also used as a classroom as a place for learning activities. The data collection tool of user perception is a questionnaire with five variables of building facilities reliability consisting of aesthetic, material, structure, utility, and environment. The data analysis (processing) method used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that the average level of user satisfaction with the five factors of building facilities reliability is required. The five variables show the significant effect on the building facilities reliability. The utility variable shows the most significant effect among the four other variables. The regression model obtained can be used to assess the reliability of the building facilities for Islamic boarding school in Sidogiri Pasuruan, East Java
The implementation of ethical concepts toward waste in the design of farms and the cultivation of ducks in Mojokerto
Location of the design object located in Mojosari, Mojokerto Regency, the selection of this location is based on many ducks and the area has a type of duck that has been known in Indonesia namely the duck Mojosari. In this area, there are problems with the environment caused by the pollution of livestock waste in the region, especially the pollution of rivers that cross the area. Through the application of the ethical concept of waste on livestock planning and processing, duck is a container and a solution to develop the potential of ducks and provide solutions to the environmental problems that cause it. Application. The ethical concept of waste on this design object, as a solution for the development and handling of the problems in this region. The ethical concept of waste is implemented by adjusting the design needs with the environmental problems posed so that the design object optimizes livestock waste potential and environmental potential. Adjustment of needs and problems in this environment is intended as an ethical in object design

Religious tolerance, cultural, local wisdom and reliability in the Great Mosque building of Mataram Kotagede Yogyakarta
This study assesses the level of user importance to the building components of the Great Mosque of Mataram Kotagede Yogyakarta. The building components are the excellence and reliability of the mosque as a cultural and religious heritage in Indonesia. This research uses the qualitative and quantitative method. The qualitative method was conducted with contextual and conceptual studies on the comparative history of the Great Mosque of Mataram Kotagede. The quantitative method collected respondent perceptions using questionnaire. The results generate ten building components that the highest important component is the aesthetics appearance of the building, while the least important component is the tomb area. Other components consist of the ornaments and building elements, outdoor circulation, indoor circulation, landscapes and parks, the wall surrounding the mosque and its area, mosque furniture, ablution facilities and lavatories, and access from the mosque area to surrounding areas. The conservation maintains the sustainability of the physical and non-physical aspects of the mosque building. The physical aspects include aesthetics and reliability of building, while the non-physical aspects consist of historical values, heritage, symbols, socio-culture, local wisdom and religious tolerance

KONTESTASI YANG SETEMPAT DAN YANG PENDATANG PADA ARSITEKTUR MASJID NUSANTARA: Jelajah atas Masjid Ampel Surabaya dan Masjid Jami’ Malang
Conservation on architecture plays very important role in shaping the identity or memory of a place as well as presenting its current context. There are must be three strategies consisting in conservation, those are: continuity, development, and usage. Continuity shows the establishment on the tradition for the sake of the continuity on the building identity in the present and future time. Development is a process of changing and adjusting toward the current of a building to gain the best condition. Usage is creating the use or giving the facility for the existance sustainability of old, present, and future building. Through the tracing on two architure cases, Masjid Sunan Ampel and Masjid Jami’ Malang, this paper aims to explore the character of architecture identity of mosque in Indonesia as an alternative of architecture sustainability which is relevant to Indonesian context, and to the development of technology as one of the instrument to build. The initial stage is exploring the architec of two mosques by using three conservation strategies as the reading tool. The next stage is doing an interpretaive analysis by comparing the finding character identity both mosques’ identity in dialogic way. The above study presents thetwo character of Indonesain mosques’ achitecture which includes technology in the building process. These characters have been becoming the starting planning strategy of mosque’s architecture which orientates to Indonesian context as well as creatively and innovatively
Daylight Quality Evaluation for Boarding House Design in Malang Indonesia
The objective of this paper is to calculate and evaluate the daylight quality of the boarding house design typology in Malang, Indonesia. The method is field measurement using digital lux meter tool. The measurement is done in some boarding houses in Malang with different room design configuration. The research objects are boarding houses in U, I, and L letter form, and also a square form with a void in the middle. The result shows that the daylight quality in U, L, and square form is around 100-200 lux. It is suitable for daylight illumination standar for bedroom if the room is for rest or sleep only. If the bedroom function is also for study or read, then the daylight illumination is far from the requirement. The daylight illumination for the study room is minimum 300 lux. The worst form that only provide low quality of daylight is I form
