Estimación de la incertidumbre asociada a la localización de objetos en el medio marino mediante técnicas acústicas

El objetivo de este trabajo es la inclusión del parámetro de la incertidumbre en el cálculo del posicionamiento en el medio marino mediante el uso de dispositivos acústicos. El procedimiento que se presenta, utiliza un vehículo que se desplaza por superficie equipado con un módem acústico que emite una señal que la recibe el equipo que se desea posicionar, ubicado en el fondo marino. Este responde con otra señal que permitirá calcular los rangos con el vehículo y triangular su posición. El balance de incertidumbres en el proceso, así como el uso estadístico, permite determinar la posición del equipo en el fondo del mar con su estimación de incertidumbre mínima a tener en cuenta.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

Traceable sea water temperature measurements performed by optical fibers

This paper describes a technique to perform traceable temperature measurements of the seawater column andseawater surface, based on optical ¿ber Bragg gratings. The paper explains the di¿erent phases of the work done:design of the optical ¿bers, its optical and thermal calibration and onsite measurements of the seawater tem-perature. In the design of these thermometers, special attention was paid to the involved materials in order toprevent any damage of the ¿bers due to the exposure to such rugged environment.The ¿bers were subjected to optical and thermal calibration, with the aim to get traceable measurements andreliable uncertainty calculation of the seawater temperature.
