Symmetry limit properties of a priori mixing amplitudes for non-leptonic and weak radiative decays of hyperons
We show that the so-called parity-conserving amplitudes predicted in the a
priori mixing scheme for non-leptonic and weak radiative decays of hyperons
vanish in the strong-flavor symmetry limit
Is it possible to observe experimentally a metal-insulator transition in ultra cold atoms?
Kicked rotors with certain non-analytic potentials avoid dynamical
localization and undergo a metal-insulator transition. We show that typical
properties of this transition are still present as the non-analyticity is
progressively smoothed out provided that the smoothing is less than a certain
limiting value. We have identified a smoothing dependent time scale such that
full dynamical localization is absent and the quantum momentum distribution
develops power-law tails with anomalous decay exponents as in the case of a
conductor at the metal-insulator transition. We discuss under what conditions
these findings may be verified experimentally by using ultra cold atoms
techniques. It is found that ultra-cold atoms can indeed be utilized for the
experimental investigation of the metal-insulator transition.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figure
Computability of the causal boundary by using isocausality
Recently, a new viewpoint on the classical c-boundary in Mathematical
Relativity has been developed, the relations of this boundary with the
conformal one and other classical boundaries have been analyzed, and its
computation in some classes of spacetimes, as the standard stationary ones, has
been carried out.
In the present paper, we consider the notion of isocausality given by
Garc\'ia-Parrado and Senovilla, and introduce a framework to carry out
isocausal comparisons with standard stationary spacetimes. As a consequence,
the qualitative behavior of the c-boundary (at the three levels: point set,
chronology and topology) of a wide class of spacetimes, is obtained.Comment: 44 pages, 5 Figures, latex. Version with minor changes and the
