La clínica en lo social: inserción y desinserción en las adicciones a las drogas

Desde la perspectiva de la subjetividad de la época, las adicciones no pueden considerarse una categoría clínica en sí misma, sino el rasgo fundamental de la relación del sujeto con los objetos de consumo. Asistimos a lo que Jacques-Alain Miller (2013) ha denominado la toxicomanía generalizada. La droga se propone en la actualidad como una solución universal al malestar en la cultura, quitándole el lugar de respuesta singular y lazo con el Otro que caracterizaba el uso del narcótico en la época de Freud. La clínica nos enseña que ciertas formas de adicción a las drogas pueden implicar una desinserción del Otro en términos de discurso, pero, al mismo tiempo, una inserción en tanto una práctica de goce sostiene una identificación. Si bien los términos de inserción y desinserción no forman parte del marco conceptual del psicoanálisis de orientación lacaniana, los mismos nos interpelan en tanto se constituyen como significantes con los que el Otro social nombra ciertos fenómenos.From the subjective point of views of today’s era, addictions cannot be considered a clinic category by themselves but the fundamental characteristic in the relationship between the subject and the objects being consumed. We take for granted then what Jacques-Alain Miller (2013) calls general drug addiction. Drugs are positioned as the solution for the unhappiness in the culture instead of the former one: as a singular response and bond with the Other in Freud's era. The clinic has tough us that some kind of drugs addictions may imply the removal of the Other in the speech. However, it may imply, at the same time, another insertion since enjoying by itself carries an identification. Te/Ti effects on JET energy confinement properties

Lately the question has been raised if a modification of the energy-confinement scaling law with respect to the electron to ion temperature ratio, Te/Ti, is required. Theoretically, like in e.g. the Weiland model, the confinement is thought to degrade with Te/Ti and studies of the hot-ion (Ti>/Te) mode seems to corroborate this. In this paper, it is shown that due to a number of effects that cancel each other out, the energy confinement time remains constant for Te/Ti>~1. The numerical study relies on a series of JET shots specifically designed to reveal an effect of Te/Ti in the hot-electron (Te>Ti) mode. A distinct effort was made to keep all current scaling-law parameters constant, including the total heating power. The effects that provide the constant confinement times have therefore nothing to do with the global properties of the plasma, but are rather due to variations in the temperature gradients which affects the transport locally.Comment: 12th International Congress on Plasma Physics, 25-29 October 2004, Nice (France

Universal Probability Distribution Function for Bursty Transport in Plasma Turbulence

Bursty transport phenomena associated with convective motion present universal statistical characteristics among different physical systems. In this letter, a stochastic univariate model and the associated probability distribution function for the description of bursty transport in plasma turbulence is presented. The proposed stochastic process recovers the universal distribution of density fluctuations observed in plasma edge of several magnetic confinement devices and the remarkable scaling between their skewness $S$ and kurtosis $K$. Similar statistical characteristics of variabilities have been also observed in other physical systems that are characterized by convection such as the X-ray fluctuations emitted by the Cygnus X-1 accretion disc plasmas and the sea surface temperature fluctuations.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figure
