Disaggregation process for dynamic multidimensional heat flux in building simulation
Heat transfer across envelopes (façade, roof, glazed areas) represents a big share of the energy flow within the heat balance of buildings. This paper focuses on areas of the envelope where multi-dimensional heat transfer occurs. These areas are commonly defined as thermal bridges, due to a localized reduction of thermal resistance of constructions in these places. This paper reviews common standardized methods to assess heat transfer in buildings, under various modelling assumptions: one-dimensional, multi-dimensional, steady state and dynamic. Within presently developed modelling and assessment methods, a need for improvement has been identified over existing methods for the thermal assessment of multi-dimensional heat transfer under dynamic conditions. A phasorial approach to differential heat transfer in thermal bridges has been developed, which serves as the dynamic extension of steady-state thermal bridge coefficients. This formulation is applied to the junction of a masonry wall with a concrete slab
Finite Dimension: A Mathematical Tool to Analise Glycans
There is a need to develop widely applicable tools to understand glycan organization, diversity and structure. We present a graph-theoretical study of a large sample of glycans in terms of finite dimension, a new metric which is an adaptation to finite sets of the classical Hausdorff "fractal" dimension. Every glycan in the sample is encoded, via finite dimension, as a point of Glycan Space, a new notion introduced in this paper. Two major outcomes were found: (a) the existence of universal bounds that restrict the universe of possible glycans and show, for instance, that the graphs of glycans are a very special type of chemical graph, and (b) how Glycan Space is related to biological domains associated to the analysed glycans. In addition, we discuss briefly how this encoding may help to improve search in glycan databases.Fil: Alonso, Juan Manuel.
The present research was to determine the prevalence of dental caries in the
mandibular first permanent molar in children 6-12 years of age who presented to
the district health centers of the future in 2015
The study was cross-sectional, descriptive and observational cut included a total
of 175 children who met the criteria for inclusion and exclusion, which
underwent intraoral examinations.
It was found that a total of 108 women, 101 (93.5%) had dental caries in the
part 36 while the part 46 presented in 106 (98.1%) of them. In relation to men of
67, 62 (92.5%) of them they had cavities in the workpiece 36 and 61 (61%)
presented in the piece 46.
By age, both in the part 36 and 46, it was found that between the ages of 6-7
years had less presence of caries compared to 8 to 12 years given the increased
presence of dental caries.
In depth of dental caries in the parts 36 and 46, at the discretion ICDIAS, it was
determined that the indicators 2 and 4 are the most prevalent in the first
permanent mandibular molars.
Concluding, no statistically significant difference between the prevalence of
caries and variables gender, age and depth of the lesion.Tesi
Note on generating functions and connected correlators of 1/2-BPS Wilson loops in SYM theory
The generating functions for the Wilson loops in the symmetric and
antisymmetric representations of the gauge group are expressed in terms
of the connected correlators of multiply-wound Wilson loops, using ingredients
from the representation theory of the symmetric group. This provides a proof of
a recent observation by Okuyama. As a by-product, we present a new calculation
of the connected 2-point correlator of multiply-wound Wilson loops at leading
order in .Comment: 16 pages, v2: references added, changes in intro and conclusions,
