This study aims to explore the effect of innovation institution on spatial transfer of energy industry in Jiangsu, China. We focus on the disparity of innovation and energy industry, and analyze the spatial transfer difference in different types of energy industry, rather than view energy industry as a whole. The study demonstrates the spatial change of energy industry at regional level and maps the spatial pattern at city level. The study chooses intellectual property rights (IPRs) protection intensity, authorization patents and local research and development (R&D) investment as the proxy of innovation. Using official data and employing panel fixed-effect model at city-industry level, we conclude (a) innovation abilities significantly influence the spatial transfer of energy industry in Jiangsu. Especially, due to the different time, IPRs protection, patent counts, and R&D investment have different effects on different regions in Jiangsu; (b) 2010 is an important turning point for energy industry development in Jiangsu, and after 2010, the energy industry begins to shift to the middle and northern Jiangsu, whereas the spatial pattern of energy industry in coastal cities is basically unchanged; (c) there is a great difference between the regions in Jiangsu Province, and industrial upgrading has not been achieved in northern Jiangsu

Pre processing of social media remarks for forensics

The Internet's rapid growth has led to a surge in social network users, resulting in an increase in extreme emotional and hate speech online. This study focuses on the security of public opinion in cyber security by analyzing Twitter data. The goal is to develop a model that can detect both sentiment and hate speech in user texts, aiding in the identification of content that may violate laws and regulations. The study involves pre processing the acquired forensic data, including tasks like lowercasing, stop word removal, and stemming, to obtain clear and effective data. This paper contributes to the field of public opinion security by linking forensic data with machine learning techniques, showcasing the potential for detecting and analyzing Twitter text data

A new approach to image enhancement for the visually impaired

    Get PDF
This works aims at enhancing images by using the colour appearance model CIECAM02 for the visually impaired to view digital displays to complement the existing image processing approaches with a reference to normal visions. Specifically, by studying the images perceived by low-vision users, the colour ranges of these perceived views are compared with those viewed by normal vision and then characterized and represented using CIECAM02 correlates, which include lightness, colourfulness, and hue. For low-vision users, the extents of these attributes are therefore obtained. Subsequently, for any input image, these CIECAM02 attributes are subsequently enhanced through histogram equalizer technique within their respective ranges for low-vision users. In comparison with the approach of RGB histogram equalizer, the preliminary result has shown that the proposed method appears to be better to enhance the contents depicted in an image. The evaluation experiment was carried out using an array of low-vision simulator glasses to be worn by a group of subjects with normal vision. The next stage of the work remains to invite real low-vision users to evaluate the proposed work.

Preparation of cluster states and W states with superconducting- quantum-interference-device qubits in cavity QED

We propose schemes to create cluster states and W states by many superconducting-quantum-interference-device (SQUID) qubits in cavities under the influence of the cavity decay. Our schemes do not require auxiliary qubits, and the excited levels are only virtually coupled throughout the scheme, which could much reduce the experimental challenge. We consider the cavity decay in our model and analytically demonstrate its detrimental influence on the prepared entangled states.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures, to appear in Phys. Rev.

Universal quantum computation with electronic qubits in decoherence-free subspace

We investigate how to carry out universal quantum computation deterministically with free electrons in decoherence-free subspace by using polarizing beam splitters, charge detectors, and single-spin rotations. Quantum information in our case is encoded in spin degrees of freedom of the electron-pairs which construct a decoherence-free subspace. We design building blocks for two noncommutable single-logic-qubit gates and a logic controlled phase gate, based on which a universal and scalable quantum information processing robust to dephasing is available in a deterministic way.Comment: 14 pages, 3 figure
