    Neurotoxicidad retardada por pesticidas en bovinos

    A natural case of delayed neurotoxicity by pesticides in bovines of lbague Tolima (Colombia) is reported. 17 adults zebu cattle showed posterior limbs ataxia, progressive paralisis, lateral decubitus muscular atrophy and opisthotonos. From those animals only eight were submitted to rigorous clinical exam, assays of some treatments and determination of colinesterase. The eight animals were slaughtered and toxicologic and histopathologic analysis were carried out. Inhibition of blood colinesterase and high concentrations of carbamates and organochlorides in viscera nervous and muscular tissues were demonstrated as well as nervous and muscular lesiones were seen.En Ibagué, Tolima (Colombia), se estudió un caso de ocurrencia natural, en el cual 17 bovinos cebú presentaron ataxia de miembros posteriores, parálisis progresiva con atrofia de masas musculares, decúbito lateral y opistótonos. Ocho animales fueron sometidos a exámenes clínicos, determinación de colinesterasa, tratamientos a base de difenhidramina y corticoides, observación de canales o necropsia, análisis toxicológicos y/o estudios histopatológicos. Se demostró inhibición de la colinesterasa sanguínea y elevadas concentraciones de carbamatos y organoclorados en vísceras y lesiones en tejidos nervioso y muscular, diagnosticándose como neurotoxicidad retardada por pesticidas.Ganado de carne-Ganadería carn

    The aim of this work is the study of fluid dynamics models using the CFD software OpenFOAM, an open source software allowing meshing, manipulation, simulation and post-processing of many problems involving fluid mechanics. The work consists of a study with OpenFOAM of a real engineering problem, namely to analyze hemodynamics in the thoracic aorta in collaboration with CIMNE (Centre Internacional de Metodes Numerics a l'Enginyeria) and LABSON-UPC (Laboratorio de Sistemas Oleohidricos y Neumcos).
