La transmisión textual de las obras burlescas de Quevedo

Este artículo estudia los diversos problemas que plantea la edición crítica de la prosa burlesca de Quevedo. Estas obras burlescas se transmitieron en numerosas copias manuscritas y ediciones, y su transmisión textual plantea dificultades para establecer la autoría, analizar errores y variantes y fijar el texto crítico. El autor del artículo estudia ejemplos de estas cuestiones en las obras de este corpus . This article studies the problems that the critical edition of Quevedo’s burlesque prose raises. These burlesque works were transmitted by many manuscripts and editions. Their textual transmission raises some questions as to who was the author, as to the analysis of mistakes and varying readings and the establishment of a critical text. The author of this article examines examples of all these problems in the works contained in this corpus

Fundamentals and applications of Raman-based techniques for the design and development of active biomedical materials

Raman spectroscopy is an analytical method based on light–matter interactions that can interrogate the vibrational modes of matter and provide representative molecular fingerprints. Mediated by its label-free, non-invasive nature, and high molecular specificity, Raman-based techniques have become ubiquitous tools for in situ characterization of materials. This review comprehensively describes the theoretical and practical background of Raman spectroscopy and its advanced variants. The numerous facets of material characterization that Raman scattering can reveal, including biomolecular identification, solid-to-solid phase transitions, and spatial mapping of biomolecular species in bioactive materials, are highlighted. The review illustrates the potential of these techniques in the context of active biomedical material design and development by highlighting representative studies from the literature. These studies cover the use of Raman spectroscopy for the characterization of both natural and synthetic biomaterials, including engineered tissue constructs, biopolymer systems, ceramics, and nanoparticle formulations, among others. To increase the accessibility and adoption of these techniques, the present review also provides the reader with practical recommendations on the integration of Raman techniques into the experimental laboratory toolbox. Finally, perspectives on how recent developments in plasmon- and coherently-enhanced Raman spectroscopy can propel Raman from underutilized to critical for biomaterial development are provided

Structural investigation of MOVPE-Grown GaAs on Ge by X-ray techniques

The selection of appropriate characterisation methodologies is vital for analysing and comprehending the sources of defects and their influence on the properties of heteroepitaxially grown III-V layers. In this work we investigate the structural properties of GaAs layers grown by Metal-Organic Vapour Phase Epitaxy (MOVPE) on Ge substrates – (100) with 6⁰ offset towards – under various growth conditions. Synchrotron X-ray topography (SXRT) is employed to investigate the nature of extended linear defects formed in GaAs epilayers. Other X-ray techniques, such as reciprocal space mapping (RSM) and triple axis ω-scans of (00l)-reflections (l = 2, 4, 6) are used to quantify the degree of relaxation and presence of antiphase domains (APDs) in the GaAs crystals. The surface roughness is found to be closely related to the size of APDs formed at the GaAs/Ge heterointerface, as confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), as well as atomic force microscopy (AFM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM)

El texto de «Origen y difinición de la Necedad», de Francisco de Quevedo, en tres nuevos testimonios manuscritos

This article revises the problems of edition of Quevedo’s burlesque work, Origen y difinición de la Necedad, because, until now, we knew about two texts: a manuscript of the 17th Century belonging to the BNE, containing a shorter text, and a copy of the 18th Century of the BMP, which includes a broader text with numerous corrections and amendments. Now, we can improve our readings with the discovery of three manuscripts from the 17th Century, which demonstrate the importance of searching and finding of fontes criticae in the process of edition. One of the manuscripts is the called by me «Codex Contreras», because it was possessed by the bookseller and philologist Fernando Contreras. The other manuscript, whose variants are fundamental, is the manuscript «Traspontina 9», belonging to the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale «Vittorio Emanuele II» in Rome. The third one is the manuscript 1192, belonging to the Biblioteca Universitaria de Bologna.El trabajo revisa los problemas de edición de una obra burlesca de Quevedo, Origen y difinición de la Necedad, que hasta ahora se recogía en un manuscrito del XVII conservado en la BNE que contenía un texto más breve, y en una copia del XVIII custodiada en la BMP, que recogía un texto más amplio con numerosas correcciones y enmiendas. Tres manuscritos del XVII hasta ahora no considerados permiten ahora mejorar sus lecturas, y corroboran la importancia de la búsqueda y hallazgo de fontes criticae en el proceso de edición. Uno de ellos es el que he denominado «Códice Contreras» por pertenecer al librero y filólogo Fernando Contreras. El otro, cuyas variantes son fundamentales, es el manuscrito «Traspontina 9», custodiado en la Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale «Vittorio Emanuele II» de Roma. El tercero es el ms. 1192 de la Biblioteca Universitaria de Bolonia

Este trabajo estudia la argumentación retórica en cuatro destacadas obras políticas de Quevedo: Grandes anales de quince días, Mundo caduco y desvaríos de la edad, Política de Dios y Primera parte de la vida de Marco Bruto. La riqueza de recursos de argumentación sobrepasa el ámbito de las tradicionales probationes retóricas, y muestra el talento literario de Quevedo para aplicar su dominio de la agudeza y el estilo con el fin de orientar sus fuentes históricas, bíblicas y literarias a la intención e ideología de su discurso.This essay examines rhetorical argumentation in four of Quevedo’s outstanding political works: Grandes anales de quince días, Mundo caduco y desvaríos de la edad, Política de Dios and Primera parte de la vida de Marco Bruto. The wealth of argumentative resources that he uses outstrips the limits of traditional rhetorical probationes and displays to the full his literary talent when it comes to applying his command of wit and style with a view to directing his historical, biblical and literary sources to the intention and the ideology of his discourse

Este trabajo estudia la que precede a la edición que Quevedo»hizo de la poesía de fray Luis de León. Analiza algunos de los»aspectos referidos a la retórica y poética que se desarrollan en»esta. Se intenta mostrar cómo Quevedo trata los aspectos más»discutidos en las polémicas literarias sobre el estilo en poesía, y»maneja un apreciable número de autoridades y tratados referentes»a estas disciplinas. This article studies Quevedo’s edition of the poems of fray Luis»de León. It analyses some of the questions about Rhetoric and»Poetics which this analyses. It tries to show how Quevedo deals»with the more controversial aspects of the discussions on poetic»style, and how he handles a considerable number of authorities»and studies on these two disciplines

Estructura y argumentación del "Lince de Italia u zahorí español" de Quevedo

El trabajo estudia la estructura y recursos de argumentación de Lince de Italia u zahorí español, un memorial que dirigió Quevedo a Felipe IV en 1628; en esta obra Quevedo aconseja al monarca sobre las medidas más convenientes que cabe tomar ante la delicada situación que se presenta en Italia, e intenta persuadirle del peligro que encierran franceses, venecianos y, sobre todo, el duque de Saboya. Al logro de dichos fines se destinan diversas técnicas de argumentación que se analizan en estas páginas. This article studies the structure and rhetorical strategies of Lince de Italia u zahorí español, a work that Quevedo dedicated to the king Philip IV in 1628. Quevedo advises the king on the more convenient actions that should be taken due to the intricate situation in Italy. He also tries to persuade the king of the danger of French and Venetian policy; and above all, of the menacing duke of Saboya. The author analyses Quevedo’s craftsmanship, that achieves these purposes
