“ESPERA AÍ, PAISANO” O TESTEMUNHO DE GRACILIANO RAMOS EM VIDAS SECAS E MEMÓRIAS DO CÁRCERE.

Graciliano Ramos deixou relatos literários importantes sobre acontecimentos da história do Brasil durante a ditadura de Vargas. Esses relatos, revestidos do caráter literário, possuem seu valor de testemunho e de construção de memória histórica. As sociedades tendem a lançar luz sobre determinados momentos históricos e apagam outros; por tal motivo as obras Vidas Secas e Memórias do Cárcere podem ser importantes para a rememoração histórica. Apoiado no conceito de mimesis do crítico literário alemão Erich Auerbach, conduziremos nossa análise para a questão do testemunho individual de Graciliano Ramos, que mesmo recorrendo aos usos do subjetivo, da ação reduzida à esfera da memória e do pensamento, as duas obras – uma memorialista e a outra ficcional – não perderam em verossimilhança, pelo contrário, realçaram os contornos da realidade concreta de um período triste da historia do Brasil

A consciência histórica é a manifestação do processo ontológico da interpretação, no qual o passado que afeta o presente se manifesta enquanto uma alteridade, ampliando o horizonte do intérprete. A produção de uma consciência histórica não é uma possibilidade apenas da ciência histórica. A literatura, mais especificamente a obra Levantado do chão do escritor português José Saramago, também pode produzi-la. A realização dessa empreitada, entretanto, não segue os procedimentos e protocolos da historiografia, tampouco almeja se enquadrar ou produzir um discurso semelhante. É através da articulação das dimensões temporais mudança e permanência pela narrativa que a consciência histórica é construída no romance.Historical consciousness is the manifestation of the ontological process of interpretation, in which the past that affects the present manifests itself as an otherness, enlarging the horizon of the interpreter. POSTHARVEST SYSTEMS FOR ORGANIC 'HONEYCRISP' AND 'FUJI' APPLES

Dynamic controlled atmosphere (DCA) and low-pressure (LP) storage can be used as an alternative to store organic apples for extended periods of time. DCA uses low oxygen (O2) levels and monitors the anaerobic compensation point (ACP). LP ventilates air at less than atmospheric pressure. ‘Honeycrisp’ and ‘Fuji’ apples from 4 different orchard locations were picked at commercial harvest maturity and placed into controlled atmosphere (CA) and LP storage regimes. Initial ACP was monitored using chlorophyll fluorescence (CF), respiratory quotient (RQ), and ethanol content. Final CA conditions for ‘Honeycrisp’ were: CA and CA-RQ (3kPa O2/0.5 kPa CO2), and CA-ILOS (Initial low oxygen stress; 0.5kPa O2/0.5kPa CO2 -10 days, 1.0kPa O2/0.7MPa CO2 thereafter). Final CA conditions for ‘Fuji’ were CA and CA-RQ (0.8kPa O2/0.8 kPa CO2), but CA-ILOS (Initial low oxygen stress; 0.6kPa O2/0.8kPa CO2 -10 days, 0.8kPa O2/0.8kPa CO2 thereafter). Two LP storage temperatures (LP33-1°C/ LP37-3°C) were used in the first season, but only (LP33-1°C) in the second. Fruit were preconditioned in air prior to final storage. Fruit quality (fruit weight, flesh firmness, soluble solids content (SSC), titratable acidity (TA), internal ethylene concentration, and respiration rate) and physiological disorders incidence were assessed after 6 and 9 months of storage plus 4 weeks in air (3°C) plus 7 days at room temperature (20°C). The performance in storage was affected by cultivar, environment, and maturity at harvest. There was variation among seasons. The incidence of physiological disorders varied between cultivars and locations. C21 developed 19.4% of soggy breakdown and W40 developed 17.2% of internal browning in the first season. The effect of storage system on physiological disorders was depended on the effect of orchard location. The incidence of physiological disorders increased as the fruit were transferred to air and RT. LP storage reduced the incidence of physiological disorders after 9 months. LP33 developed slightly more soft scald than CA storage (2.9% and 0.4%) in the second season. LP33 maintained higher TA of ‘Fuji’ (0.28%) in the first season, and of ‘Honeycrisp’ (0.34%) in the second

Contribution to the macro and microstructure analysis of repair mortars for corroded reinforced concrete structures

This work aims to contribute to the durability of patch repair systems in corroded reinforced concrete structures. It is concerned with the macro and microstructure analysis of 13 mortars: six laboratory-formulated and seven industrialized repair mortars from Brazil. The experimental program is a study complementing the analysis of the mortars and the concrete used as a reference in two previos Master's theses. Some of the initial results from one of the theses are summarized in this paper. The main objective here is to compare and analyze the carbonation performance of the mortars under exposure first to inital conditions favorable to shrinkage, followed by exposure to conditions favorable to steel bar corrosion in Brazilian climates. Test specimens were initially exposed to a low relative humidity of around 50%, from three days up to two and half years. Then, nine alternating dry-wet cycles were performed in a ventilated heat chamber at a temperature of 40°C (14 days), followed by a moist chamber, with a relative humidity of around 95% and a temperature of 23°C (14 days). These experiments verified great heterogeneity in the evolution of the carbonation front for some of the mortars. Visual analyses with a stereomicroscope indicated that this behavior appears to be related to the amount and distribution of air content in the fresh mortars and with the fines content in the dry mixes.
