Legal Aspects Concerning Use of Drones in the Conditions of the Slovak Republic within the Sphere of Intra-logistics

    Get PDF
The use of drones for material transmits or support of activities of intra-logistics belongs among the new and progressive technological methods. Their primary purpose does not lie in the monitoring of employees; for the most part, it is utilized in the sphere of transport, when monitoring objects and private land properties or when supporting of intra-logistics, which is its primary economic purpose. Individual entrepreneurs need to protect their widely delineated private complexes which are always busy and full of employees. That is why they are often interested in eliminating of monitoring complexity of these areas. Newly proposed drone use requires further attention not only from the technical sphere but also from the field of law. Our current legal frame should be amended and updated as such, that it would enable their use

Possibilities of the Lotka-Volter’s Model using in the Area of Environmentalism

    Get PDF
Environmental problems are becoming more and more important in all industrial sectors. This trend is closely linked to the increase of the number and extent of solved tasks and problems. Often these are complex problems that involve the impact of a wide range of different factors. Traditional conventional methods are not suitable for their solutions. Contrary, the use of simulation and optimization tools is very effective. Their application is based on attested formulas and models, for example, the model of Lotka-Volter. It is a continuous model of system dynamics, which is used successfully in various areas. Within the frame of environmentalism, it could find application in suitable simulation tools in the questions of a solution of the problem of water and water courses protection

Článok sa zaoberá popisom simualčného modelu obsluhy cestujúcich v zákazníckom centre železničného dopravcu. Simulčný model bol vytvorený pre potreby overovania opatrení zameraných na zrýchlenie procesu vybavovania zákaznikov a zniženie tvorby radov pred jednotlivými predajnými miestami. The paper describes the simulation model of a passenger queue in the customer centre of a railway operator. The simulation model is created to verify the measures used for speeding up the servicing of passengers and decreasing queue length at individual servicing points

How to Choose and When to Start Best ITS Projects That Enhance Logistic Performance?

    Get PDF
This paper is dealing with the evolvement of operational research in logistics related to ITS projects. Basically a static model has been introduced by the authors. The model is an extended assigned method. There are more and more quasi-real-time data existing on the changing properties of real world elements and processes due to the less and less cycle time of data collecting. On the other hand volume of the data mapping the real world in more details increased significantly. Therefore ITS projects in logistic has been examined. Later on the model has been partly dynamited

The Use of Lean Manufacturing Techniques – SMED Analysis to Optimization of the Production Process

Lean is a culture of real and continuous optimization. As a concept of continuous optimization in the midst of limited resources must be practiced continuously as a long term organizational norm. This paper revels why changeover time reduction is important in manufacturing industries and from the various tool and techniques available within Lean manufacturing describes mainly SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies) for changeover time reduction and its application in Shaft manufacturing industry. This paper also describes principles, benefits, procedure and practical application of SMED. Theoretical bases are verified in a practical part that describes analysis and design optimization of non-productive time at changeover honing machine in selected shaft manufacturing compaty. The output is the structural design of universal palette and evaluation of productivity due to optimization of operations of time honing gear shafts. The result achieved showed considerable reduction in delay arising out of machine setting time, batch setting time and demonstration delay

Human factor in business process management: modeling competencies of BPM roles

    Get PDF
Purpose: The study proposes competence models for the roles of process owners, process analysts and industrial engineers based on qualitative research. Design/methodology/approach: The research methodology is a combination of a questionnaire survey and interviewing in Czech companies, which develop the process approach. The proposed competence models can be utilized during business process management (BPM) implementation while appointing process owners, analysts and industrial engineers and their further development. Findings: This paper emphasizes the role of human factor and presents research results concerning most important BPM roles and their competencies. Research limitations/implications: There is lack of research (a research gap) in the field of BPM roles, what they do and what they should do. Practical implications: A system of competence models is thus a tool for human resource management and should increase the success rate of BPM projects. Another possible utilization is in higher education in business administration. Social implications: Another possible utilization is in higher education in business administration. Originality/value: It proposes competence models for the roles of process owners, process analysts and industrial engineers based on qualitative research. © 2020, Emerald Publishing Limited.Tomas Bata University -Faculty of Management and Economics [VaV-IP-RO/2018/03]; [VEGA 1/0600/20]; [KEGA 012TUKE4/2019]; [APVV SK-SRB-18-0053

Application of the Tecnomatix Plant Simulation Program to Modelling the Handling of Ocean Containers using the AGV System

    Get PDF
AGV systems, gradually making their way into individual logistics processes, represent an important tool for handling different types of cargo. Since their initial start in the domain of small handling units, their use has been incrementally finding its application in the area of large handling units, too, such as different types of containers. That is why an ever increasing number of them can be encountered at the range of land and sea reloading sites. Thus, there are many opportunities for them to be deployed in different types of logistics processes at maritime reloading sites. For the AGV system and the logistics processes to function correctly at each maritime reloading site, they need to be thoroughly fine-tuned. One of the methods that can be used effectively to that end is the method of computer simulation. The paper will describe how to create a simple simulation model using Tecnomatix Plant Simulation
