Kappa-deformed Statistics and the Formation of a Quark-Gluon Plasma
The effect of the non-extensive form of statistical mechanics proposed by
Tsallis on the formation of a quark-gluon plasma (QGP) has been recently
investigated in ref. \cite{1}. The results show that for small deviations
() from Boltzmann-Gibbs (BG) statistics in the QGP phase, the
critical temperature for the formation of a QGP does not change substantially
for a large variation of the chemical potential. In the present effort we use
the extensive -deformed statistical mechanics constructed by Kaniadakis
to represent the constituents of the QGP and compare the results with ref. [1].Comment: 2 Figure
The NASA teleconferencing system: An evaluation
The communication requirements of the Apollo project led to the development of a teleconferencing network which linked together, in an audio-fax mode, the several NASA centers and supporting contractors of the Apollo project. The usefulness of this communication linkage for the Apollo project suggested that the system might be extended to include all NASA centers, enabling them to conduct their in-house business more efficiently than by traveling to other centers. A pilot project was run in which seventeen NASA center and subcenters, some with multiple facilities, were connected into the NASA teleconferencing network. During that year, costs were charted and, at the end of the year, an evaluation was made to determine how the system had been used and with what results. The year-end evaluation of the use of NASA teleconferencing system is summarized

Degree spectra for transcendence in fields
We show that for both the unary relation of transcendence and the finitary
relation of algebraic independence on a field, the degree spectra of these
relations may consist of any single computably enumerable Turing degree, or of
those c.e. degrees above an arbitrary fixed degree. In other
cases, these spectra may be characterized by the ability to enumerate an
arbitrary set. This is the first proof that a computable field can
fail to have a computable copy with a computable transcendence basis
Asynchronous performance analysis of a single-phase capacitor-start, capacitor-run permanent magnet motor
This work presents a detailed analysis of the asynchronous torque components (average cage, magnet braking torque and pulsating) for a single-phase capacitor-start, capacitor-run permanent magnet motor. The computed envelope of pulsating torque superimposed over the average electromagnetic torque leads to an accurate prediction of starting torque. The developed approach is realized by means of a combination of symmetrical components and d-q axes theory and it can be extended for any m-phase AC motor - induction, synchronous reluctance or synchronous permanent magnet. The resultant average electromagnetic torque is determined by superimposing the asynchronous torques and magnet braking torque effects
