Integrated Process Simulation and Die Design in Sheet Metal Forming
During the recent 10-15 years, Computer Aided Process Planning and Die Design
evolved as one of the most important engineering tools in sheet metal forming, particularly in
the automotive industry. This emerging role is strongly emphasized by the rapid development
of Finite Element Modelling, as well. The purpose of this paper is to give a general overview
about the recent achievements in this very important field of sheet metal forming and to
introduce some special results in this development activity. Therefore, in this paper, an
integrated process simulation and die design system developed at the University of Miskolc,
Department of Mechanical Engineering will be analysed. The proposed integrated solutions
have great practical importance to improve the global competitiveness of sheet metal forming
in the very important segment of industry. The concept described in this paper may have
specific value both for process planning and die design engineers
Georg Lukács as a Communications Scholar: Cultural and Digital Labour in the Context of Lukács’ Ontology of Social Being
The task of this work is to apply thoughts from Georg Lukács’ final book, the Ontology of Social Being, for the theoretical analysis of cultural and digital labour. It discusses Lukács’ concepts of work and communication and relates them to the analysis of cultural and digital work. It also analyses his conception of the relation of labour and ideology and points out how we can make use of it for critically understanding social media ideologies. Lukács opposes the dualist separation of the realms of work and ideas. He introduces in this context the notion of teleological positing that allows us to better understand cultural and digital labour as well as associated ideologies, such as the engaging/connecting/sharing-ideology, today. The analysis shows that Lukács’ Ontology is in the age of Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter still a very relevant book, although it has thus far not received the attention that it deserves. This article also introduces the Ontology’s main ideas on work and culture, which is important because large parts of the book have not been translated from the German original into English. Lukács’ notion of teleological positing is crucial for understanding the common features of the economy and culture
Applications of Commutator-Type Operators to -Groups
For a p-group G admitting an automorphism of order with exactly
fixed points such that has exactly fixed points,
we prove that G has a fully-invariant subgroup of m-bounded nilpotency class
with -bounded index in G. We also establish its analogue for Lie
p-rings. The proofs make use of the theory of commutator-type operators.Comment: 11 page
Near-Miss Symmetric Polyhedral Cages
Following the experimental discovery of several nearly symmetric protein cages, we define the concept of homogeneous symmetric congruent equivalent near-miss polyhedral cages made out of P-gons. We use group theory to parameterize the possible configurations and we minimize the irregularity of the P-gons numerically to construct all such polyhedral cages for =6 to =20 with deformation of up to 10%
