Beyond nudges: Tools of a choice architecture

The way a choice is presented influences what a decision-maker chooses. This paper outlines the tools available to choice architects, that is anyone who present people with choices. We divide these tools into two categories: those used in structuring the choice task and those used in describing the choice options. Tools for structuring the choice task address the idea of what to present to decision-makers, and tools for describing the choice options address the idea of how to present it. We discuss implementation issues in using choice architecture tools, including individual differences and errors in evaluation of choice outcomes. Finally, this paper presents a few applications that illustrate the positive effect choice architecture can have on real- world decisions

In der WHO-Charta von Ottawa aus dem Jahre 1986 steht zu lesen: >>Die Art und Weise, wie eine Gesellschaft die Arbeit und die Arbeitsbedingungen organisiert, sollte eine Quelle der Gesundheit und nicht der Krankheit sein.<< Diese Forderung ist in der spätmodernen Arbeitsgesellschaft nach wie vor nicht eingelöst. Und Erwerbsarbeit ist kein Lebensbereich wie jeder andere. Über das Einkommen sichert sie das materielle Auskommen der Gesellschaftsmitglieder und ermöglicht ihnen, sich sozial zu integrieren und zu partizipieren. Deshalb sind Arbeitsplatzunsicherheit (Sverke, Hellgren u. N ä swall, 2006) und Arbeitslosigkeit (Paulu. Moser, 2009) kritische Lebensereignisse, die kränken undkrank machen. Was die Arbeitsplatzunsicherheit betrifft, so ist es nicht allein die Sorge, den Arbeitsplatz zu verlieren, die belastet. Gleiches gilt für die verbreitete Erfahrung, dass sich die Arbeitsbedingungen der Arbeitnehmer und Arbeitnehmerinnen auf Kosten ihrer psychischen Gesundheit gravierend verschlechtern. Deshalb muss es alarmieren, wenn Besch ä ftigtenbefragungen gegenw ä rtig darauf hinweisen, dass etwa jeder Zweite seine gesundheitlichen Probleme in einen ursächlichen Zusammenhang mit den Arbeitsbedingungen an seinem Arbeitsplatz bringt (Zok, 2010)

Wpływ wielkości przedsiębiorstw na kondycję handlu w Serbii

The impact of firm size on the economy and trade sector performance is lately researched due to its economic importance. Concerning it, this paper researches the specifics and determinants of impact of firm size on overall performance of distributive trade (wholesale and retail), with special insight on European Union and Serbia. Empirical research in the world, European Union and Serbia show very significant role of small and medium enterprises in creation of overall performance of trade sector, expressed through the number of enterprises, number of employees, turnover and added value. In that we find significant role of large trade chains which operate globally in many countries, including Serbia, which is a central issue in this paper.Wpływ wielkości przedsiębiorstw na gospodarkę oraz sektor handlu podlega w ostatnich latach badaniom z uwagi na swe ekonomiczne znaczenie. Mając to na uwadze, niniejsze opracowanie bada specyfikę oraz determinanty oddziaływania wielkości przedsiębiorstw na ogólny stan handlu dystrybucyjnego (hurtowego i detalicznego), ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem Unii Europejskiej i Serbii. Wyniki badań empirycznych na świecie, w Unii Europejskiej i Serbii wykazują ogromną rolę małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw w kontekście funkcjonowania sektora handlu, co potwierdza liczba przedsiębiorstw, ich udział w ogólnym zatrudnieniu, wielkość obrotów i wartość dodana. Znaczenie to przejawia się poprzez ogromne łańcuchy handlowe działające globalnie, w tym w Serbii
