HiPHET: A Hybrid Approach to Translate Code Mixed Language (Hinglish) to Pure Languages (Hindi and English)
Bilingual code mixed (hybrid) languages has become very popular in India as a result of the spread of Western technology in the form of the television, the Internet and social media. Due to this increase in usage of code-mixed languages in day-to-day communication, the need for maintaining the integrity of Indian languages has arisen. As a result of this need the tool named Hinglish to Pure Hindi and English Translator was developed. The tool translated in three ways, namely, Hinglish to Pure Hindi and Pure English, Pure Hindi to Pure English and vice versa. The tool has achieved accuracy of 91% in giving Hindi sentences as output and of 84% in giving English sentences as output, where the input sentences were in Hinglish. The tool has also been compared with another similar tool in the paper
Aharonov-Bohm Radiation of Fermions
We analyze Aharonov-Bohm radiation of charged fermions from oscillating
solenoids and cosmic strings. We find that the angular pattern of the radiation
has features that differ significantly from that for bosons. For example,
fermionic radiation in the lowest harmonic is approximately isotropically
distributed around an oscillating solenoid, whereas for bosons the radiation is
dipolar. We also investigate the spin polarization of the emitted
fermion-antifermion pair. Fermionic radiation from kinks and cusps on cosmic
strings is shown to depend linearly on the ultraviolet cut-off, suggesting
strong emission at an energy scale comparable to the string energy scale.Comment: 14 pages, 6 figures. Version 2: Expanded discussion on boundary

Effects of thrombocytopenia in pregnancy
Background: Thrombocytopenia defined as platelet count of less than 1,50,000/cu.mm. Thrombocytopenia is divided according to severity into mild moderate and severe types. Multiple factors are responsible. Methods: This is a retrospective study of one-year period including 120 pregnant patients irrespective of their gestational age at civil hospital Ahmedabad. Etiology of this condition are identified and analyzed. Results: Gestational Thrombocytopenia is the most common etiology. This condition is self-limiting usually. Conclusions: Platelet count estimation should be a routine at first antenatal visit for timely diagnosis and to achieve favorable fetomaternal outcome.
Astreaks: Astrometry of NEOs with trailed background stars
The detection and accurate astrometry of fast-moving near-Earth objects
(NEOs) has been a challenge for the follow-up community. Their fast apparent
motion results in streaks in sidereal images, thus affecting the telescope's
limiting magnitude and astrometric accuracy. A widely adopted technique to
mitigate trailing losses is non-sidereal tracking, which transfers the
streaking to background reference stars. However, no existing publicly
available astrometry software is configured to detect such elongated stars. We
present Astreaks, a streaking source detection algorithm, to obtain accurate
astrometry of NEOs in non-sidereal data. We validate the astrometric accuracy
of Astreaks on 371 non-sidereally tracked images for 115 NEOs with two
instrument set-ups of the GROWTH-India Telescope. The observed NEOs had V-band
magnitude in the range [15, 22] with proper motion up to
140/min, thus resulting in stellar streaks as high as
6.5 (582 pixels) in our data. Our method obtained astrometric
solutions for all images with 100% success rate. The standard deviation in
Observed-minus-Computed (O-C) residuals is 0.52, with O-C
residuals <2(<1) for 98.4% (84.4%) of our
measurements. These are appreciable, given the pixel scale of
0.3 and 0.7 of our two instrument
set-ups. This demonstrates that our modular and fully-automated algorithm helps
improve the telescope system's limiting magnitude without compromising
astrometric accuracy by enabling non-sidereal tracking on the target. This will
help the NEO follow-up community cope with the accelerated discovery rates and
improved sensitivity of the next-generation NEO surveys. Astreaks has been made
available to the community under an open-source license.Comment: 10 pages, 7 figure
Using Open Standards for Interoperability - Issues, Solutions, and Challenges facing Cloud Computing
Virtualization offers several benefits for optimal resource utilization over
traditional non-virtualized server farms. With improvements in internetworking
technologies and increase in network bandwidth speeds, a new era of computing
has been ushered in, that of grids and clouds. With several commercial cloud
providers coming up, each with their own APIs, application description formats,
and varying support for SLAs, vendor lock-in has become a serious issue for end
users. This article attempts to describe the problem, issues, possible
solutions and challenges in achieving cloud interoperability. These issues will
be analyzed in the ambit of the European project Contrail that is trying to
adopt open standards with available virtualization solutions to enhance users'
trust in the clouds by attempting to prevent vendor lock-ins, supporting and
enforcing SLAs together with adequate data protection for sensitive data
Performance Analysis and Fault Diagnosis Method for Concentrator Photovoltaic Modules
Concentrator Photovoltaic (CPV) systems use high efficiency multi-junction
solar cells with efficiencies >40%, but the module efficiency is often much
lower. The increased complexity of a CPV module, with optics, receiver and the
tracker gives an increased probability that faults will arise during the
operational lifetime. In addition, a location like India has varied atmospheric
conditions that further complicates the diagnosis of faults. It is therefore
important to decouple effects due to the external environment (such as the
atmosphere) from effects due to the degradation of the module. By applying a
computer model to outdoor CPV test data in Bangalore, India we have established
a method to assess the performance of the CPV module and finally we present a
method to diagnose faults in the module.Comment: 7 pages, 12 figure
HO-1 Upregulation Attenuates Adipocyte Dysfunction, Obesity, and Isoprostane Levels in Mice Fed High Fructose Diets
Background. Fructose metabolism is an unregulated metabolic pathway and excessive fructose consumption is known to activate ROS.HO-1 is a potent antioxidant gene that plays a key role in decreasing ROS and isoprostanes. We examinedwhether the fructosemediated increase in adipocyte dysfunction involves an increase in isoprostanes and that pharmacological induction ofHO-1would decrease both isoprostane levels and adipogenesis. Methods and Results. We examined the effect of fructose, on adipogenesis in human MSCs in the presence and absence of CoPP, an inducer of HO-1. Fructose increased adipogenesis and the number of large lipid droplets while decreasing the number of small lipid droplets ( \u3c 0.05). Levels of heme and isoprostane in fructose treated MSC-derived adipocytes were increased. CoPP reversed these effects andmarkedly increasedHO-1 and theWnt signaling pathway. Thehigh fructose diet increased heme levels in adipose tissue and increased circulating isoprostane levels ( \u3c 0.05 versus control). Fructose diets decreasedHO-1 and adiponectin levels in adipose tissue. Induction ofHO-1 by CoPP decreased isoprostane synthesis ( \u3c 0.05 versus fructose). Conclusion. Fructose treatment resulted in increased isoprostane production and adipocyte dysfunction, which was reversed by the increased expression of HO-1
