Making interpretation redundant: The grammaticalization of that-clauses after verbs of deception
This project explores the changing relationship between two types of construction shared by three transitive verbs of deceiving (delude, deceive, fool), which are followed by content clauses introduced by a variety of prepositional phrases containing abstract nouns or gerunds specifying (or ‘interpreting’) the mental phenomena in question
