    DETERMINATION OF HEALTHY LIFE STYLE BEHAVIORS OF STUDENTS STUDYING IN THE SCHOOL OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS

    This study was carried out to determine the healthy lifestyle behaviors of students studying at the School of Physical Education and Sports. The population of the study consists of the students studying at Kafkas University School of Physical Education and Sports and the sample consists of 150 students aged between 18-34 who study in different departments. Healthy Life Style Behavior Scale II was used to determine healthy lifestyle behaviors of students. Mean, standard deviation analysis techniques were used for data analysis. Kruskal-Wallis H, Mann-Whitney U test was used to determine the differences. The obtained data were statistically evaluated at p<0.05 level. SPSS 17.0 package program was used to analyze the data. The maximum score that can be obtained from the scale was 208, and the total score of the students (140.8 ± 15.18) was determined. When the mean scores of the sub-dimensions of the SYBDO participants were considered, the health responsibility was 22.6 ± 4.20, the physical activity was 20.8 ± 3.47, the nutrition was 23.0 ± 3.39, the spiritual development was 26.8 ± 5.07, the interpersonal relations were 25, 8 ± 4,68, stress management was found to be 21,4 ± 4,20. As a result, SYBD of the students studying at the School of Physical Education and Sports was found to be medium level. It can be said that teachers and trainees who will be a model for people in the future will be more aware of the importance of healthy lifestyle.  Article visualizations

    INVESTIGATION INTO THE EFFECTS OF STATIC AND DYNAMIC STRETCHING ON VERTICAL JUMP PERFORMANCE OF TAEKWONDO ATHLETES

    This study has sought to illuminate the effect of static and dynamic stretching exercises on the vertical jump performance of taekwondo players. 14 volunteer players were solicited to take part in this study. The participants who were 14-17 age range are licensed players of Amasya Tekhan Sports Club. The protocol employed by Gelen (2008) so as to investigate into the effects of different stretching protocols on the vertical jumping was utilised for tests. Vertical jump tests were conducted on participants three times following each stretching activity in 4-5 min and the best results were noted. Height, body weight and means of BMI, standart deviation, minimum and maximum values of the athletes were measured. A one-way variance analysis in repeated measures (ANOVA) was employed to analyze the data. Findings clearly indicate that neither static nor dynamic stretching exercises have an effect on jumping performance. Correspondingly, this finding may have caused from the physical and psyhological traits of taekwondo players. In summation, based on the analysis in this study, it can be concluded that static and dynamic stretching exercises done after slow aerobic runnings before jumping had no significant effect on front jumping (FJ), squat jumping (SJ) and drop jumping (DJ) performance.  Article visualizations

    INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECT OF MENSTRUATION PERIOD ON SPORTIVE PERFORMANCE OF WOMEN’S FUTSAL PLAYERS

    This paper was to investigate the effect of menstruation cycles on sportive performance in women’s futsal players. A total of 8 healthy, active and volunteer women players who had a regular menstruation period and didn’t use any regulatory medical supplement (oral contraceptive) were recruited for this study. To analyse data, means of age, height, body weight and BMI values of the players, standard deviation, minimum and maximum values were calculated. The Friedman Two Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test from nonparametric tests was employed to determine if there is a difference among menstrual phases. Findings clearly indicate that flexibility, vertical jump and anaerobic power values showed significant decrease (P<0,01), while other performance variables didn’t show statistical significant differences (P>0.05) among menstrual cycles. In a nutshell, it can be concluded that menstrual cycles of women’s futsal players don’t affect the flexibility, power, speed, anaerobic and aerobic power performances.  Article visualizations

    06.03.2018 tarihli ve 30352 sayılı Resmi Gazetede yayımlanan “Yükseköğretim Kanunu İle Bazı Kanun Ve Kanun Hükmünde Kararnamelerde Değişiklik Yapılması Hakkında Kanun” ile 18.06.2018 tarihli “Lisansüstü Tezlerin Elektronik Ortamda Toplanması, Düzenlenmesi ve Erişime Açılmasına İlişkin Yönerge” gereğince tam metin erişime açılmıştır.Bu çalışmada Popüler Tarihçilik Açısından Necip Fazıl Kısakürek'in Eserlerindeki Tarih Anlayışı ve Öğretimine İlişkin Görüşleri ele alınmıştır. İslamcı, muhafazakâr, mukaddesatçı, milliyetçi muhafazakâr gibi kavramlarla ifade edilen grupların 1950'li yılların başından günümüze kadar gelen sürede yakın tarih üzerine kurguladıkları tarih paradigmasının mimarı kabul edilen Necip Fazıl Kısakürek'in tarih muhtevalı eserlerinin akademik bir perspektifle ele alan çalışmaların azlığı bir eksiklik olarak tespit edilmiştir. Bu bağlamda Necip Fazıl Kısakürek'in tarih görüşlerini dile getirdiği eserleri incelenmiştir. Çalışmada betimsel tarama yönteminden istifade edilmiştir. Araştırma neticesinde Necip Fazıl Kısakürek'in tarih düşüncesini; madde-ruh, doğu-batı, hain-kahraman, Yahudi-Moskof temelinde işlediği tespit edilmiştir. Necip Fazıl; gerilemenin Kanuni devrinde başladığını belirtmiş ve Tanzimat fermanı ile başlayan batılılaşma girişimleri için atılan adımları tenkit etmiştir. İkinci Abdülhamid, tarih düşüncesinin temel karakteridir. Tarihi İslami çizgiden iman ve inanç temelinde ele almıştır. Mevcut tarihçiliğin gerçeği yansıtmadığını düşünür. Eserlerinde işlediği yakın tarih okuması, Türkiye'de İslamcılığın ve muhafazakârlığın alternatif tarih okumasının temel kaynaklarından birini teşkil etmiştir. Akademik hassasiyetlerden uzak bir tarihyazımı metodolojisiyle eserlerini kaleme almıştır. Etkileyici üslubu ile ele aldığı konuların popülerleşmesine katkı sunmuş ama akademik hassasiyetlerden uzak tarzı tarih algısında dezenformasyona sebep olmuştur.This study is about the historical views of Necip Fazıl Kısakürek in terms of popüler historiography. It has beb accepted that Necip Fazıl Kısakürek, who is considered to be architect of the history paradigm, was built on the recent history from the early 1950s until present day, defined, İslamist, natioralist conservative, sectarian. Necip Fazıl Kısakürek's historical works which is examined with an academic perspective has been identified as a deficiancy. For this reason his views on history has been examined. İn this study, descriptive scanning method has been used. As a result of the research, it has been found that Necip Fazıl Kısakürek's thaougts about history has processed on the basis of matter-spirit, east-west, traitor-hero, Jewish-Moskof. Necip Fazıl Kısakürek has stad that the regression started in the period f Kanuni and criticized the steps taken fort the westernization attempts that started with the Tanzimat edict. Abdülhamid 2. is the basic characterof history thaougt. Necip Fazıl Kısakürek has analzyed history from the İslamic line on the basis f faith. He thinks that existing historiograpy does not reflect truth. The historical opinions of Necip Fazıl Kısakürek have been source of alternative history for İslamic and conservative groups. He was written his works with a his historiograpy methodology away from academic sensibilites. He was contributed fo the popularization of his subject with his impressive style. Those, the method used for the interpreting theresults and the target group that the surver was done on increase theimportance of the study.As a result of the study, it was seen that violence in the healthindustry increased as results of the delays in health services and dissatisfactionof people from the health services.     In parallel with the globalization and the increasing competition, the importance of information technology in rapidly growing business life has reached a indisputable point. These technical innovations create different perspectives which result in structural changes in businesses. In this context, Quality of Working Life is an issue that allows assessing the effects of information technology usage on business practices comprehensively. Determining the effects of information technology on Quality of Working Life which has dimensions as career, salary, job satisfaction, safe working conditions, work-life balance and education enables to discuss in accordance with multiple findings. Purpose: In this study, determining the effects of information technology usage on quality of working life is aimed. The growth of businesses and growing amount of work in hospitality industry has required information technology use. In addition, hospitality businesses seek to achieve a high quality of working life for influencing and retaining the qualified employees. The high rate of labor turnover in hospitality industry shows more clearly the importance of this purpose. Materials/Methods: The survey technique has used within the scope of this study. While the technology scale has been formed by drawing inspiration from different studies (Gürler and Güler, 2011; Lam et al., 2007; Ham et al., 2005); the quality of working life scale has been adopted from Walton’s study (1973).     THE EVALUATION OF MENTAL ABILITIES OF ATHLETES IN DIFFERENT BRANCHES

    This paper aims to evaluate the levels of mental ability of licensed athletes who are actively engaged in sports at branch level in Turkey. A total of 340 athletes, including 116 women and 224 men, from various regions of Turkey who are actively engaged in sports at elite level in different branches voluntarily participated in the survey which evaluates their levels and techniques of mental training. It was considered important that athletes participated in the survey should be licensed and importance of the study was emphasized to them. The survey model was used in this study. Current information related to research problem was systematically given by scanning of relevant literature, so a theoretical framework on the subject was created. First of all, a twelve-question personal information form developed by researcher was applied. Ottawa Mental Skills Assessment tool (OMSAT-3) which is developed by Durand-Bush, Salmela and Green-Demers (2001) and adapted to Turkish language by Erhan, Güler, Ağduman and Gerek was applied to evaluate the levels of athletes’ mental ability. In the adaptation phase, the scale was applied to 220 athletes and internal consistency value was found to be 0.94. The scale consists of 48 items and 12 subscales and these subscales are evenly divided into four items. The scale consists of a total of 48 items and constructed on a 7-point Likert-type. The scoring was formed from 1 to 7 according to the statements, “Strongly disagree”, “Disagree”, “Slightly disagree”, “Neither agree nor disagree”, “Agree”, “Slightly agree” and “Strongly agree”. Frequency Analysis was applied to determine the demographic characteristics of participants and Shapiro-Wilk Test was applied in order to decide whether the questionnaires are suitable to normal distribution and Mann-Whitney U test was applied in order to determine the dimensions according to parameters such as gender, marital status, and type of sports, level of contact and level of sport. Kruskal-Wallis H test was applied for analysis of the dimensions in terms of age, sports age and educational level. Finally, correlation analysis of Spearman was used in order to determine the relation between sub-dimensions of total satisfaction score. The significance level (p<0.05) was accepted in analysis. As a result, there is a significant difference in mental ability dimensions of active athletes in different branches according to their mental ability levels and variables such as age, type of sports, sports level and sports age. Therefore, it is observed that mental ability levels of athletes in different branches vary according to these variables.Article visualizations

    Küreselleşme sürecinin etkilerinin arttığı işgücü piyasalarında, şirketler için büyük önem arz eden konuların başında gelen İnsan Kaynakları Yönetimi; şirketin gelecek hedeflerine ulaşabilmesi, şirket verimliliğinin sağlanması ve artırılması için ihtiyaç duyulan, gelecekte ihtiyaç duyulabilecek insan kaynağının işe alınması, eğitilmesi, kariyerinin planlanması ve geliştirilmesi faaliyetlerini ifade etmektedir. Günümüz rekabet koşullarında işletmelerin hayatına devam edebilmesi, insan gücünün niteliği ile doğrudan ilişkilidir. Bu nedenle, doğru insanın bulunması ve seçilmesi süreciyle başlayan ve yönetilmesi süreciyle devam eden insan kaynakları yönetim fonksiyonu işletmelerin vazgeçilmezi haline gelmektedir. Diğer taraftan, insan unsurunun da sürekli değiştiği ve geliştiği dikkate alındığında, İKY fonksiyonlarının da sürekli gelişim, değişim ve etkileşim sürecinde olacağı açıktır.Günümüzde nitelik düzeyi yüksek işgücünün tercihi marka değeri yüksek işveren markası olan işletmeler olduğu dikkate alındığında nitelikli insan kaynağının kazandırılmasını ve elde tutulmasını sağlayacak işveren markasının oluşturulması gerekmektedir. İşveren markası yönetimi, işletmelerin rakiplerinden farklılaşmasına odaklanması sürecinde sadece mal ve hizmet farklılığı yaratarak değil, mevcut çalışanların ve potansiyel işgücünün beklentileri ve ihtiyaçlarını dikkate alarak oluşturulan örgüt kültürü ve insan kaynakları faaliyetleri açısından yönetme biçimidir. İşveren markası yönetiminin gerçekleştirilmesi, işletmelerde işgücü devrini de azaltmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, insan kaynakları yönetim süreci ve işveren markası ilişkisi önem kazanmaktadır. İşveren markası yönetim modelinin süreçleri ile insan kaynakları yönetim sürecinin etkileşimi işletmenin nitelikli insan kaynağını bulma ve seçme sürecinden yönetme sürecine kadar tüm fonksiyonlarında katkısı olacağı ifade edilmektedir.İşveren markasının bileşenleri incelendiğinde, mevcut çalışanlara karşı sorumluluklar, potansiyel adayların işyerine kazandırılma misyonu, iş-özel hayat dengesi, kurum kültürü, kurum/ürün markası, çalışma ortamı ve yan haklar olduğu görülmektedir. İşveren markası ve insan kaynakları yönetimi yönetim süreçlerinin bileşenleri açısından büyük benzeşme göstermektedir. Bu nedenle bu iki yönetim yaklaşımın etkileşim içerisinde olması gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, işveren markasının sürecinin işletmeler açısından önemini ortaya koyarak, nitelikli personelin kazandırılması ve elde tutulması sürecinde insan kaynakları yönetim fonksiyonları ile ilişkisini incelemektir.     Utilization of ceramic waste in the production of Khorasan mortar

    Khorasan mortar was used in almost all of the historical structures in the geographical area of turkey. It is still used in the renovation of these structures. Water, lime, baked clay is used in the production of Khorasan by breaking and grinding. Crushed brick and tiles are preferred as baked clay. In this study, the usability of ceramic wastes as baked clay was investigated. An important part of ceramic production is made especially in Eskişehir and its vicinity. 10% of ceramic production shows up as wastes because of various reasons. These wastes which are under 20 mm are crushed in the jaw breakers and these which are under 150 mm are grinned in grinders, transformed to powder and then mixed with hydrated lime and water in various proportions, in this way Khorasan mortars are obtained. In mortar production, crushed ceramic-ceramic powder ratio, ceramic-lime ratio were changed and the most suitable ratios were tried to be found. Samples taken from these mortars which are 4 cm x 4 cm x 16 cm in size are removed after a day from the mold and kept in humid environment. Physical and mechanical properties such as unit weight, ultrasonic pulse velocity, bending strength, compressive strength of the mortar were determined. As a result of the experiments, the unit weights range was between 1.5–1.65 kg/dm3, the ultrasonic pulse velocity rates range from 1.3–1.9 km/h, the range of bending strengths was from 0.25–1.05 MPa, and compressive strength has changed in the range of 7.5–10.5 MPa. With the work done, it is recommended to use a high percentage of lime while using ceramic wastes in the process of producing Khorasan mortar
