At the World Championship for young dressage horses, year 2018, for the age of 5 years, participated 13 different breeds, belonging to traditional breeds and sport breeds. For this research we examine all 5 year old dressage horses from Euro dressage World Championships for young dressage horses year 2018, divided in 2 groups for breed variable (traditional breeds and sport breeds), and 2 groups for sex, and test variables. Data was manipulated using Excel 2007 (Microsoft) and was analyzed using SPSS Version 21 for Windows (IBM, USA). The aim of the statistical analysis was to explore any differences in the results at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in the year 2018 between horses from different breed, sex and test. The value of alpha was set at 0.05 for all statistical tests. In preliminary test and in consolation test there were no recorded differences between the sexes of the participating horses. Instead, if in the preliminary test and in the consolation test participate both: horses belonging to traditional breeds and horses belonging to sports breeds, in the final test only qualifies horses belonging to sports breeds. The horses results at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in the year 2018 at final test is significantly higher (p = 0.042) in the case of stalions ( =8.7250) compared to geldings ( =4.5800). In conclusion we can say that the higher share of participation in the World Championship for young dressage horses and the qualification of the final tests belongs to the horses of the sports breeds

Evaluation of water quality in the Prut River, Sculeni-Iasi Area by determining some physical-chemical indicators

In 2018, a series of researches were carried out regarding the main water quality indicators in the Prut river, Iasi county, Sculeni area. Following the taking and carrying out of physico-chemical analyzes on the collected samples, it was found that most of the water indicators in the Prut river do not exceed the maximum allowable concentration, according to the norms written in the specialized literature. Small exceedances were registered for the following indicators: chlorides, CCO-Cr, Ca2+, Mg2+, which indicates that the water in the Prut river has a relatively good quality, most indicators fall within the limits imposed for surface water of category II

On a population of 1520 Brown cows, from 15 farms located in Vrancea County were evaluated the main reproductive indicators on the basis of data from official control in farms. Were evaluated the following indicators: rank of lactation, age at first calving (AFC), service period(SP), dry period (DP), calving interval (CI)and number of artificial inseminations for one gestation (IA). From analysis of mean values could be observed that average age at first calving was of approximately 33 month ranking between 29 and 35 month, the analysed population having precocity under the standard of Brown breed. Number of inseminations for one gestation was 2.09, at the farms level being recorded a poor management of frozen seminal material.Reproduction indicators had means values which prove that reproduction function was poor technically managed

Having in view that, Brown breed have an important rate in cattle breed structure from Vrancea County, we consider that it is opportune to carry out a study concerning the seasonal variation of qualitative features of raw milk obtained from this breed, due to specific technologies and technological factors management applied in the area. The results of this research aim to complete the information regarding quality of raw milk gathered from Brown breed cattle which are registered in Vrancea County Official Control of productive performances. Research was carried out to determine the raw milk quality by specific physical-chemical and microbiological analysis, for parameters such as: somatic cell count, dry matter, fat, protein, lactose and casein content, urea, density and pH. The mean values and variability estimators for somatic cell count ranged between 242600 (winter) and 573200 (summer), dry matter oscillated between 11.84% and 13.42%, the fat percentage varied between 3.28% (spring) and 4.34% (winter), protein percentage recorded mean values between 3.21% and 3.96% in autumn, respectively in winter; lactose content was between 3.78% and 4.87%, casein content ranged between 27.46 g/l and 29.29 g/l

Techno-Economic Assessment, Scalability, and Applications of Aerosol Lignin Micro- and Nanoparticles

    | openaire: EC/H2020/788489/EU//BioELCellLignin micro- and nanoparticles (LMNPs) synthesized from side-streams of pulp and paper and biorefinery operations have been proposed for the generation of new, high-value materials. As sustainable alternatives to particles of synthetic or mineral origins, LMNPs viability depends on scale-up, manufacturing cost, and applications. By using experimental data as primary source of information, along with industrial know-how, we analyze dry and spherical LMNPs obtained by our recently reported aerosol/atomization method. First, a preliminary evaluation toward the commercial production of LMNPs from industrial lignin precursors is presented. Following, we introduce potential LMNPs applications from a financial perspective. Mass and energy balances, operating costs, and capital investment are estimated and discussed in view of LMNPs scalability prospects. The main potential market segments identified (from a financial perspective) include composite nanofillers, solid foams, emulsion stabilizers, chelating agents, and UV protection. Our technical, financial, and market assessment represent the basis for R&D planning and efforts to lower the risk related to expected industrialization efforts. Manufacturing costs were estimated between 870 and 1170 USD/t; also, minimum selling prices varied from 1240 and 1560 USD/t, depending on raw materials used. Sensitivity analysis indicated that manufacturing cost can be as low as 600 USD/t, depending on the process conditions considered. Finally, based on the financial assessment, potential applications were identified.Peer reviewe

Romanian national guideline on translating fecal microbiota transplantation applications related to Clostridioides difficile infection into the local clinical practice

Fecal microbiota transplantation involves the infusion of intestinal microorganisms via the transfer of a stool from a healthy individual into a diseased individual, with the intent of restoring normal intestinal flora. Fecal transplant is proposed for the treatment of refractory Clostridioides difficile infection. At present, recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection is the only indication supported by solid scientific evidence. Regulations by healthcare authorities vary among different countries. Considering that Romania does not have an available national guideline to offer standardization, this paper aimed to create a national fecal microbiota transplantation guideline concerning indications, techniques and donor screening, developed by international and local scientific working groups
