Diabeteses neovascularisatio és szekunder glaucoma = Diabetic neovascularisation and secondary glaucoma

Diabetes mellitusban a neovascularis glaucoma a vascularis endothelialis növekedési faktor-A hypoxia indukálta termelése miatt kialakuló érújdonképződés következménye, a cukorbetegség egyik legsúlyosabb, a látást veszélyeztető késői szövődménye. Kezelésére számos szemnyomáscsökkentő gyógyszert, sebészi és kiegészítő lézeres eljárást alkalmazunk, ezek eredményessége azonban korlátozott. A gyógyszeres vascularis endothelialis növekedési faktor-A gátlás terápiás értéke jelenleg még nem ismert. A szekuder glaucoma és az érújdonképződés azonban az esetek legnagyobb részében megelőzhető a szénhidrát- és lipidanyagcsere megfelelő kontrolljával, a hypertonia hatékony kezelésével, valamint időben és megfelelő számú lézergóccal végzett panretinalis fotokoagulációval. Sajnos, a hazai gyakorlatban lényegesen gyakoribb a diabetes szövődményeként kialakult neovascularis glaucoma, mint indokolt lenne a rendelkezésre álló kezelési lehetőségek alapján. A diabeteses szekunder glaucoma hatékonyabb megelőzéséhez a háziorvos, a diabetológus, a dietetikus és a szemorvos fokozott együttműködése és a betegek compliance-ének lényeges javítása szükséges. Neovascularisation is a consequence of hypoxia-induced production of vascular endothelial growth factor-A. Neovascular glaucoma is one of the most serious, sight-threatening late complications of diabetes. Several intraocular pressure lowering drugs, surgical and adjunctive laser treatments have been used to treat this disease, but the efficacy of the interventions is limited. The role of vascular endothelial growth factor-A blocking therapy in the treatment of neovascular glaucoma remains to be determined. Development of neovascularisation, however, can be prevented with adequate long-term glycemic and lipid control, effective treatment of arterial hypertension and optimal timing of adequate panretinal photocoagulation, in the majority of the cases. Unfortunately, in clinical practice diabetic neovascular glaucoma is more frequently experienced in Hungary than would be expected based on the variety of available therapeutic possibilities. In order to increase the success of prevention both cooperation of general practitioners, diabetologists, dietitians and ophthalmologists, and compliance of diabetic patients need to be improved. A közlekedők magatartásának, attitűdjének elektronikus felmérése (ESRA projekt: E-Survey of Road Users’ Attitudes)

Az ESRA a világ minden táján megtalálható közlekedésbiztonsági és közszolgálati intézmények, kutatóközpontok és magán támogatók közös kezdeményezése. Célja: közlekedésbiztonsági teljesítményre vonatkozó összehasonlítható adatok gyűjtése és elemzése. Az ESRA projekt kezdeményezője és koordinátora a belga Vias Institute (Brüsszel), együttműködve 11 irányító partnerrel, köztük olyan nagynevű kutatóintézetekkel, mint a BASt, BfU, KfV, SWOV, stb. Az ESRA „lelke” a közösen kifejlesztett és szakemberek által nemzeti nyelvre fordított kérdőív, melynek témái az önbevalláson alapuló magatartás, az attitűdök és vélemények a veszélyes közlekedési magatartásról, a rendőri ellenőrzésre vonatkozó tapasztalatok, továbbá a közlekedéspolitikai intézkedések támogatása. A kérdőív különféle közlekedésbiztonsági problémákat vizsgál, mint például gépjárművezetés alkohol, drog, vagy orvosság hatása alatt, gyorshajtás, biztonsági öv, gyermekülés használata, figyelemelterelés. A megkérdezettek a személygépkocsiban utazók, motorkerékpár és moped-vezetők, kerékpárosok és gyalogosok voltak. A felmérés eredményei alapján a baleseti adatok szerint kedvezőtlen hazai közlekedési morál nem rosszabb az európai átlagnál az önértékelésen alapuló válaszok szerint. További kutatást igényel azonban, hogy az online felmérés eredményei mennyire tükrözik a valóságot az egyes magatartási jellemzők esetén

Application of a chemical clock in material design: chemically programmed synthesis of zeolitic imidazole framework-8

Here we show a time-programmed and autonomous synthesis of zeolitic imidazole framework-8 (ZIF-8) using a methylene glycol-sulfite clock reaction. The induction period of the driving clock reaction, thus, the appearance of the ZIF-8 can be adjusted by the initial concentration of one reagent of the chemical clock. Non-autonomous zinc–methylimidazole oscillator and the formation of layered precipitation structures in a hydrogel

Oscillations are one of the intrinsic features of many animate and inanimate systems. The oscillations manifest in the temporal periodic change of one or several physical quantities describing the systems. In chemistry and biology, this physical quantity is the concentration of the chemical species. In most chemical oscillatory systems operating in batch or open reactors, the oscillations persist because of the sophisticated chemical reaction networks incorporating autocatalysis and negative feedback. However, similar oscillations can be generated by periodically changing the environment providing non-autonomous oscillatory systems. Here we present a new strategy for designing a non-autonomous chemical oscillatory system for the zinc–methylimidazole. The oscillations manifested in the periodic change of the turbidity utilizing the precipitation reaction between the zinc ions and 2-methylimidazole (2-met) followed by a partial dissolution of the formed precipitate due to a synergetic effect governed by the ratio of the 2-met in the system. Extending our idea spatiotemporally, we also show that these precipitation and dissolution phenomena can be utilized to create layered precipitation structures in a solid agarose hydrogel
