The development of high field magnets utilizing Bi-2212 wind & react insert coils
Wind & react Bi-2212 inserts have been manufactured and tested inside a wide-bore NbTi-Nb3Sn magnet providing a background field up to 20T at 4.2K. A pair of six-layer concentric coils both achieved critical currents of 350 A (JE = 200 A/mm2) in a 20T background field. A thicker 14-layer insert made from 119m of round wire had a critical quench current IQ of 287A (JE = 162 A/mm2) at the same field and contributed to a combined central field of 22.5 T. This is a record for a fully superconducting magnet at 4.2 K. The 14-layer coil, equipped with an external protective shunt, was used for an extensive series of quench measurements and endured >150 quenches without damage. Minimum quench energies were found to be in the range of 200-500mJ in background fields of 15-20T when the coil carried 70-95% of its critical quench current

internacionais (que representam 88,1% dos depĂłsitos de patentes no Brasil) em mudar suas
estratégias no sentido de defenderem seus negócios em mercados emergentes
Positive Psychology in Sales: Integrating Psychological Capital
As positive psychology moves into the workplace, researchers have been able to demonstrate the desirable impact of positive organizational behavior. Specifically, psychological capital (PsyCap) improves employee attitudes, behaviors, and performance. Advancing PsyCap in sales research is important given the need for a comprehensive positive approach to drive sales performance, offset the high cost of salesperson turnover, improve cross-functional sales interfaces, and enrich customer relationships. The authors provide an integrative review of PsyCap, discuss its application in sales, and advance an agenda for future research. Research prescriptions are organized according to individual-level, intra-organizational, and extra-organizational outcomes pertinent to the sales field
A point mutation in the murine Hem1 gene reveals an essential role for Hematopoietic Protein 1 in lymphopoiesis and innate immunity
Hem1 (Hematopoietic protein 1) is a hematopoietic cell-specific member of the Hem family of cytoplasmic adaptor proteins. Orthologues of Hem1 in Dictyostelium discoideum, Drosophila melanogaster, and Caenorhabditis elegans are essential for cytoskeletal reorganization, embryonic cell migration, and morphogenesis. However, the in vivo functions of mammalian Hem1 are not known. Using a chemical mutagenesis strategy in mice to identify novel genes involved in immune cell functions, we positionally cloned a nonsense mutation in the Hem1 gene. Hem1 deficiency results in defective F-actin polymerization and actin capping in lymphocytes and neutrophils caused by loss of the Rac-controlled actin-regulatory WAVE protein complex. T cell development is disrupted in Hem1-deficient mice at the CD4âCD8â (double negative) to CD4+CD8+ (double positive) cell stages, whereas T cell activation and adhesion are impaired. Hem1-deficient neutrophils fail to migrate in response to chemotactic agents and are deficient in their ability to phagocytose bacteria. Remarkably, some Rac-dependent functions, such as Th1 differentiation and nuclear factor ÎșB (NF-ÎșB)âdependent transcription of proinflammatory cytokines proceed normally in Hem1-deficient mice, whereas the production of Th17 cells are enhanced. These results demonstrate that Hem1 is essential for hematopoietic cell development, function, and homeostasis by controlling a distinct pathway leading to cytoskeletal reorganization, whereas NF-ÎșBâdependent transcription proceeds independently of Hem1 and F-actin polymerization

Superhumps in Cataclysmic Binaries. XXIV. Twenty More Dwarf Novae
We report precise measures of the orbital and superhump period in twenty more
dwarf novae. For ten stars, we report new and confirmed spectroscopic periods -
signifying the orbital period P_o - as well as the superhump period P_sh. These
are GX Cas, HO Del, HS Vir, BC UMa, RZ Leo, KV Dra, KS UMa, TU Crt, QW Ser, and
RZ Sge. For the remaining ten, we report a medley of P_o and P_sh measurements
from photometry; most are new, with some confirmations of previous values.
These are KV And, LL And, WX Cet, MM Hya, AO Oct, V2051 Oph, NY Ser, KK Tel, HV
Vir, and RX J1155.4-5641.
Periods, as usual, can be measured to high accuracy, and these are of special
interest since they carry dynamical information about the binary. We still have
not quite learned how to read the music, but a few things are clear. The
fractional superhump excess epsilon [=(P_sh-P_o)/P_o] varies smoothly with P_o.
The scatter of the points about that smooth curve is quite low, and can be used
to limit the intrinsic scatter in M_1, the white dwarf mass, and the
mass-radius relation of the secondary. The dispersion in M_1 does not exceed
24%, and the secondary-star radii scatter by no more than 11% from a fixed
mass-radius relation. For the well-behaved part of epsilon(P_o) space, we
estimate from superhump theory that the secondaries are 18+-6% larger than
theoretical ZAMS stars. This affects some other testable predictions about the
secondaries: at a fixed P_o, it suggests that the secondaries are (compared
with ZAMS predictions) 40+-14% less massive, 12+-4% smaller, 19+-6% cooler, and
less luminous by a factor 2.5(7). The presence of a well-defined mass-radius
relation, reflected in a well-defined epsilon(P_o) relation, strongly limits

The James Webb Space Telescope Mission
Twenty-six years ago a small committee report, building on earlier studies,
expounded a compelling and poetic vision for the future of astronomy, calling
for an infrared-optimized space telescope with an aperture of at least .
With the support of their governments in the US, Europe, and Canada, 20,000
people realized that vision as the James Webb Space Telescope. A
generation of astronomers will celebrate their accomplishments for the life of
the mission, potentially as long as 20 years, and beyond. This report and the
scientific discoveries that follow are extended thank-you notes to the 20,000
team members. The telescope is working perfectly, with much better image
quality than expected. In this and accompanying papers, we give a brief
history, describe the observatory, outline its objectives and current observing
program, and discuss the inventions and people who made it possible. We cite
