CONSERVAÇÃO PÓS-COLHEITA DE MELÃO SUBMETIDO A DIFERENTES CORTES: RELATO DE AULA PRÁTICA

O melão é um fruto muito promissor no mercado de produtos minimamente processado. O processamento mínimo envolve várias operações e vem ganhando destaque no mercado, pois oferece um produto com características semelhantes ao fruto intacto e facilita o consumo imediato. O trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar a conservação pós-colheita de melão minimamente processado e refrigerado em um período de armazenamento. Os frutos foram lavados em água corrente, desinfectados, secados ao ar, cortados manualmente, embalados e armazenados na geladeira. Aos 0 e 7 dias foram realizadas as análises de perda de massa, sólidos solúveis totais, pH, acidez titulável e relação de sólidos solúveis e acidez titulável.As análises evidenciaram perda de massa em ambos os tratamentos, sendo que a perda máxima foi de 1,88%, considerada uma perda não suficiente para apresentar sintomas de murcha; os sólidos solúveis totais, não apresentou diferença significativa; o pH médio encontrado foi 6,245. A acidez títulável apresentou aumento significativo em função do tempo para ambos os tratamentos. A relação de sólidos solúveis e acidez titulável teve redução significativa em função do tempo para ambos os tratamentos

City Girls:Dämonen, Vamps und Bubiköpfe in den 20er Jahren

In den 20er Jahren erobert das CITY GIRL die Kino-Leinwände. Die Heldinnen treten in einem neuen Look auf: mit Bubikopf, kurzem Rock und Zigarette. Ihr Schauplatz ist die Großstadt. Die Frauenbilder der 20er Jahre – die Bubiköpfe und Backfische, Flapper, Working Girls und Vamps – sind Ausdruck eines veränderten Rollenverständnisses der Frau zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts. Bohemiennes, Sexualreformerinnen, technische und okkulte Medien sprengen wilhelminische Geschlechternormen. Rauschgift, Trance und Exzess kreieren für eine kurze Zeitperiode einen ver-rückten Kosmos. Weiblichkeit, Großstadt und Moderne verdichten sich zum Mythos der &#8216;Neuen Frau‘. Das Bild der Neuen Frau ist nicht mehr von den drei &#8216;K’s&#8217; (Kinder, Küche, Kirche), sondern von den drei &#8216;M‘s&#8217; (Mode, Metropole, Medien) geprägt. Weibliche Selbstständigkeit und wirtschaftliche Unabhängigkeit durch Berufstätigkeit führen aber auch in die „Fröste der Freiheit“. Film und Fotografie, Literatur und bildende Kunst nehmen diese Veränderungen im Geschlechterverhältnis auf und entfalten sie im Bild der Neuen Frau. So reflektierte zuletzt die Retrospektive der Berlinale 2007 „City Girls. Frauenbilder im Stummfilm“ die Darstellung dieses neuen Frauentyps. Dem Bild der Neuen Frau als internationales, interkulturelles und intermediales Phänomen der Moderne widmet sich dieses Symposium mit Filmvorführungen und mit wissenschaftlichen Vorträgen. Anlass ist der 65. Geburtstag von Christina von Braun und Inge Stephan. Programm Am 4. Juli finden im ICI Berlin wissenschaftliche Vorträge u.a. zu okkulten Medien und frühem Stummfilm (Dorothea Dornhof), zur Figur der ver-rückten Bohemienne (Gabi Dietze), zu Murnaus City Girl (1930) (Astrid Deuber-Mankowsky), zur deutschen Rezeption der Flapper-Filmstars Clara Bow und Colleen Moore (Isabelle Stauffer), zu subversiven Traumdiskursen von Germaine Dulac bis zu Pipilotti Rist (Dagmar von Hoff) und zu City Girls im Büro (Annegret Pelz) statt. Im Berliner Kino Babylon werden am Abend des 2. Juli sowie ganztägig am 3. Analysis of shared common genetic risk between amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and epilepsy

Because hyper-excitability has been shown to be a shared pathophysiological mechanism, we used the latest and largest genome-wide studies in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (n = 36,052) and epilepsy (n = 38,349) to determine genetic overlap between these conditions. First, we showed no significant genetic correlation, also when binned on minor allele frequency. Second, we confirmed the absence of polygenic overlap using genomic risk score analysis. Finally, we did not identify pleiotropic variants in meta-analyses of the 2 diseases. Our findings indicate that amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and epilepsy do not share common genetic risk, showing that hyper-excitability in both disorders has distinct origins

Desmoglein 2 mutation provokes skeletal muscle actin expression and accumulation at intercalated discs in murine hearts

Arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (AC) is an incurable progressive disease that is linked to mutations in genes coding for components of desmosomal adhesions that are localized to the intercalated disc region, which electromechanically couples adjacent cardiomyocytes. To date, the underlying molecular dysfunctions are not well characterized. In two murine AC models, we find an upregulation of the skeletal muscle actin gene (Acta1), which is known to be a compensatory reaction to compromised heart function. Expression of this gene is elevated prior to visible morphological alterations and clinical symptoms, and persists throughout pathogenesis with an additional major rise during the chronic disease stage. We provide evidence that the increased Acta1 transcription is initiated through nuclear activation of the serum response transcription factor (SRF) by its transcriptional co-activator megakaryoblastic leukemia 1 protein (MKL1, also known as MRTFA). Our data further suggest that perturbed desmosomal adhesion causes Acta1 overexpression during the early stages of the disease, which is amplified by transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) release from fibrotic lesions and surrounding cardiomyocytes during later disease stages.
