Our work to proceed tried to understand the aspects that mark the process of production of the urban space of Vitória in what it says respect, specifically, to the growth of the urban periphery that shelters classes of low power of income, whose the municipal government's paper in the process has been fundamental. In other words, it intends to understand how it is happening, in the current moment, the expansion of the city through the appearance of new neighborhoods built by a great majority of excluded of the access to the private property or that they cannot pay rent, areas these that go by urbanization works, reverting the picture previous of environmental degradation. They are treated of great projects under the responsibility of the municipal government, financed by the state and for several national and international financial organisms, which long for a city modern, appropriate and competitive for the capital and global economyNosso trabalho, a seguir, procurou entender os aspectos que marcam o processo de produção do espaço urbano de Vitória no que diz respeito, especificamente, ao crescimento da periferia urbana que abriga classes de baixo poder aquisitivo/renda, cujo papel do governo municipal no processo tem sido fundamental.

The purpose of this article is to present the results of a study of interurban air travel in Brazil. The work was developed by looking for the principal factors that influence the number of passengers who travel between a specified pair of cities in a particular period of time. The results revealed that the volume of passengers is strongly related to city size and tenuosly related to income, distance and population occupation. Finally, the results revealed also that although all variable influence air passenger potential, the relative Importance of each variable differs from city to city. The purpose of this article is to present the results of a study of interurban air travel in Brazil. A spatial structure model for the administrative system of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul presenting maximum spatial efficienty is the purpose of this study. Therefore it was necessary to Identify and evaluate the existing administrative structure and reformulate it relatively to the limits of each division. This was done by defining an index of efficiency of the location of an administrative center with respect to the distribution of consumers in an administrative area.A spatial structure model for the administrative system of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul presenting maximum spatial efficienty is the purpose of this study. This paper aims to present some analytical data concerning the spacial distribution of migrants in the State of Rio de Janeiro, and the participation role of the alloctone elements within each municipality. One aims to understand the pattern based on the computation of the distance from the homeland and also the factors contributing to attract these migrants - the big cormmercial and industrial centers, according to the Ravenstein Laws. A set of variables which express the urbanization and accessibility degrees were analysed by means of the R.M.L.T. Programme in order to test the applicability of the above mentioned laws. This paper aims to present some analytical data concerning the spacial distribution of migrants in the State of Rio de Janeiro, and the participation role of the alloctone elements within each municipality. This paper is an attempt to ascertain some relationships between the distribution of brasilian cities and that of an passenger traffic, from the empirical evidence presented on a series of maps. The effects of some urban characteristics as population size, special urban functions and proximity of other cities are considered, in particular the "traffic-shadow effect" and consequent desappearance of the airports localized within the limits of area submitted to this effect. This paper is an atternpt to ascertain some relationship between the distribution of brazilian cities and that of an passenger traffic, from theempirical evidence presented on a series of maps. New triple systems in the RasTyc sample of stellar X-ray sources

During the study of a large set of late-type stellar X-ray sources, we discovered a large fraction of multiple systems. In this paper we investigate the orbital elements and kinematic properties of three new spectroscopic triple systems as well as spectral types and astrophysical parameters (T_eff, log g, vsin i, log N(Li)) of their components. We conducted follow-up optical observations, both photometric and spectroscopic at high resolution, of these systems. We used a synthetic approach and the cross-correlation method to derive most of the stellar parameters. We estimated reliable radial velocities and deduced the orbital elements of the inner binaries. The comparison of the observed spectra with synthetic composite ones, obtained as the weighted sum of three spectra of non-active reference stars, allowed us to determine the stellar parameters for each component of these systems. We found all are only composed of main sequence stars. These three systems are certainly stable hierarchical triples composed of short-period inner binaries plus a tertiary component in a long-period orbit. From their kinematics and/or Lithium content, these systems result to be fairly young.Comment: Accepted for publication in A&A (on July 22, 2008

Silent Harm. A training manual for service providers and interpreters who work with deaf, refugee, and migrant women and girls who have experienced gender-based violence

Introduction: The handbook presented here is one of the results of the Justisigns2 project, which was developed to address an important interpreter-mediated communications gap, namely: the need to share information about how to communicate effectively, via interpretation, with deaf and migrant women, refugees or asylum-seekers, victims/survivors of gender-based violence (DSGBV) who use languages other than the official languages of their host states. This gave rise to an analysis of need on the part of service providers and the creation of resources to support service providers working with victims/survivors across a range of sectors (e.g.police-court, social-health and NGO settings) and the interpreters who mediate the communicative exchanges with these victims/survivors. The Justisigns2 project was funded by the Erasmus+program (ref. 2019-1-IE01-KA202-051558) and was carried out by the following project partners: Interesource Group (Ireland), European Union of the Deaf, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, An Garda Síochána,Heriot-Watt University and the Universidade de Vigo, with support from a number of organisations and individuals (associate partners). This handbook builds on the results of a survey that was conducted in 2021 (Napier et al. 2022) that invited engagement from interpreters and a broad range of service providers working with deaf or migrant DSGBV victims. This yielded extensive and varied data on the needs of such groups in the three countries surveyed (Ireland, Spain and the United Kingdom). For the purposes of this publication, the focus is on violence against women and girls. It is important to acknowledge that DSGBV is violence directed against a person because of that person’s gender or violence that affects persons of a particular gender disproportionately. Given that sociolinguistic contexts and legislative frameworks vary in the different project partner countries, a general definition of DSGBV is first provided and then the differences that exist in the 3 countries surveyed (Ireland, UK and Spain) are discussed. For example, the term gender-based violence is not widely used in the UK where the term Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) is in use. As a result, the term Domestic, Sexual and Gender-based violence (DSGBV) is used here

Introduction: Embedding principles of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in public service provision and education is critical to ensuring that society recognises and values the diverse experiences and perspectives of people at all stages of the life cycle and in different contexts. An active EDI agenda gives consideration to people from minoritised or disadvantaged backgrounds, the potential intersections between different characteristics that might disadvantage them further, and what steps can be taken to mitigate those disadvantages. For example, recognising that minority ethnic women from low socio-economic backgrounds may experience more challenges in access and staying in higher education or employment. Another part of embedding EDI into everyday practice also encourages discussion of traditionally taboo topics concerning gender, such as menstruation and menopause. One such taboo topic is Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Violence against women is a major public and clinical health problem and a violation of women's human rights. It is rooted in and perpetuates gender inequalities. This project focused on women who experience a double disadvantage because they are victims of GBV and they cannot, or struggle to, access support services in the majority language of their country either because they are migrant, refugees or asylum seekers, or because they are deaf signers. This report details the results of a survey conducted as part of the Justisigns 2 project, which was co-funded through the European Commission’s Erasmus+ fund to explore best practices for support service providers and interpreters working together, in order to ensure that women who report GBV can access services and support in their own language. Before going into the findings of the survey study, we provide a definition of Gender-Based Violence and an overview of the Justisigns 2 project, a brief review of relevant literature, details of the methodology used to design, distribute and analyse the survey, and discussion of the implications of the findings with recommendations for training and further research.Comisión Europea - Erasmus+ | Ref. 2019-1-IE01-KA202-05155
