    Wing data

    No full text
Wing length, wing width, patch length and patch width, separated for fore- and hindwings and for alive and predated individuals

    temp_treatments

    No full text
Temperature treatments used in the microcosms experiment on damselfly larvae. The two treatments mimic the temperature seasonality currently experienced at the sampled sites, and that predicted for these sites under climate change. Temperatures are given as the water temperature experienced in the microcosms on each day of the experiment

    Landmarks

    No full text
Landmark coordinates for the studied wings in .tps format. There are four files, corresponding to fore- and hindwings and alive and predated individuals

    growthdata

    No full text
Data on the growth of damselfly larvae when reared in microcosms under seasonally fluctuating temperatures. Growth is measured as larval headwidths (in mm) at the age of 0, 42, 84 and 136 days

    mortalitydata

    No full text
Data on the survival of damsefly larvae when reared together or alone in microcosms under seasonally fluctuating temperatures. Survival is measured as the number of individuals alive on day 136 of the experiment

Supplement 1. Raw data from the common garden and microcosm experiments, and R code for calculating relative growth rates and producing Fig. 1 and Table 2.

To run the code included in the supplements requires an installation of the statistical package R and the R packages polynom, sampling, plyr and phia. The first supplement, labdata_ecology.txt, contains the raw data from the common garden experiment. The second supplement, microcosmdata_ecology.txt, contains the raw data from the common garden experiment. Using the R code in the third supplement, NilssonOrtman_Competition.R, together with the data in the two data files allows the reader to recreate Fig. 1 and Table 1 in the Main text.</p> </div

<p>Larvae of <i>C. johanssoni</i> originated from three Swedish regions: central, northern, and northernmost latitudinal regions. Symbols show mean (95% CI) larval growth rates.</p

Appendix B. Supplementary figures showing the larval size distribution at hatching, illustrating how growth rates were calculated in the microcosm experiment using stratified resampling, and a comparison of temporal changes in the size distribution of larvae in the intra- and interspecific treatment groups.
