Mystical orientation and the perceiving process : a study among Anglican clergymen
This study examines the hypothesised link between mystical orientation and the perceiving process within the Jungian model of psychological type. Data were provided by 232 Anglican clergymen serving in the Church in Wales who completed both the Francis-Louden Mystical Orientation Scale and the Francis Psychological Type Scales. The data demonstrated that intuitive types recorded significantly higher scores than sensing types on the index of mystical orientation, supporting the hypothesis based on Ross' thesis

IDENTIFYING THE SET OF SSD-EFFICIENT MIXTURES OF RISKY ALTERNATIVES
Target MOTAD and other direct utility-maximization models provide one way of computing SSD-efficient mixtures. These models are appropriate when the utility function is known and can also be used to identify part of the set of SSD-efficient mixtures even when the utility function is not known. However, they do not always identify all SSD-efficient mixtures. A grid method was proposed by Bawa, Lindenberg, and Rafsky. A third approach, which extends the work of Dybvig and Ross, is presented here. It is illustrated by applying it to data from Anderson, Dillon, and Hardaker.Risk and Uncertainty,
Psychological type profile of Roman Catholic priests : an empirical enquiry in the United States
This study explores the psychological type profile of Roman Catholic priests serving in the United States, drawing on data provided by 55 priests who completed the Francis Psychological Type Scales. The data demonstrated clear preferences for introversion (67 %), sensing (64 %), and judging (91 %), and for a balance between thinking (49 %) and feeling (51 %). A very high proportion of priests reported preferences for ISTJ (27 %), compared with 16 % of men in the U.S. population. Implications of these findings are discussed for ministry in the Roman Catholic Church
