Information needed: comprendere e anticipare i bisogni informativi al tempo di Wikipedia

Il quotidiano dialogo tra reference librarian e utenti ha fatto emergere l’abitudine comune alla consultazione di Wikipedia come punto di partenza per la costruzione della propria strategia di ricerca, prassi che ci ha spinti ad interrogarci sul ruolo che i bibliotecari hanno in un contesto informativo profondamente mutato rispetto agli anni della nostra formazione. Il risultato è stato comprendere quanto un uso consapevole di Wikipedia generasse un duplice beneficio: per i bibliotecari, perché grazie a un maggiore coinvolgimento nella redazione di contenuti e nell’inserimento di fonti attendibili hanno l'opportunità di emanciparsi dal ruolo di mediatori del catalogo, di disseminare all’esterno la conoscenza prodotta dalla collezione e moltiplicare i canali di accesso della biblioteca; per gli utenti, perché spinti a porre maggiore attenzione alla verificabilità delle informazioni pubblicate nell'enciclopedia e a cimentarsi nel ruolo di wikipediani, possono passare dal ruolo di consumatori di informazione a quello di produttori. In the era of fragmentation of information, the integration and cooperation between different projects is needed to the speading of knowledge. The present work illustrates the processes to identify entities in the linked data projects of the "SHARE" family as well as the valuable contribution that Wikidata, the open knowledge base of the Wikimedia family, can give to such initiatives. In this context, the success indicators of the project, such as reuse, interoperability and influence, are observed to evaluate this cooperation and propose other possible forms of enrichment

La connessione tra i dati delle biblioteche e il coinvolgimento della comunità: il progetto SHARE Catalogue-Wikidata

The aim of this work is to present the project of authority data integration from the SHARE Catalogue, a University Consortium bibliographic catalogue in linked open data, to Wikidata. After a brief description of Wikidata collaborative approach, and how the community creates and enriches its contents, we will focus on some international experiences which are particularly significant. We will then describe the design, analysis and implementation of the first phase of the SHARE-Wikidata project. Finally, we will show the advantages of using Wikidata in terms of analysis, evolution and enrichment of catalogues and, at the same time, how useful it is to include data from authoritative sources for Wikidata

Impact of Chronic Lung Disease on Very Low Birth Weight infants: a collaborative study of the Italian Group of Neonatal Pneumology

Objective. To evaluate the incidence and risk factors for chronic lung disease in a population of very low birth weight infants. Methods. In a prospective multicentric trial all very low birth weight infants (< 1500 g) accepted in 36 Italian Neonatal Intensive care units were studied from February 89 to January 99. For each patient were recorded maternal history, perinatal events, respiratory disease, infections, patent ductus arteriosus, retinopathy of prematurity, intraventricular haemorrhage and final outcome. Logistic regression analysis was performed in a multivariate assessment of risk factors for chronic lung disease. Results. In the study were included 1634 patients: 1387 infants survived beyond 36 weeks and 6.9% of them still oxygen dependent. The incidence of chronic lung disease was higher among babies with a gestational age of < 28 weeks and weight \ub2 1000 g. The multivariate analysis showed that low birth weight, respiratory distress syndrome, persistent ductus arteriosus and sepsis were the main risk factors. Conclusions.
