Diseño y construcción de férula auxiliar en el tratamiento de artritis reumatoide

    No full text

Preparation and Sintering Effect in Quartz-Barium Titanate Porous Ceramics and Permeability Modulation Using an Implanted Electrode

    No full text
Barium titanate and quartz mixed in different proportions were used to create porous piezoelectric ceramics. Three different sintering temperatures were used for the ceramics preparation; a nichrome wire was used as internal electrode in porous ceramics. Characteristics as porous area, porosity, and its relationship with quartz percentage and sintering temperatures were studied. Porous ceramics with an implanted electrode were created, by applying an alternating voltage in the internal electrode that controlled the liquid permeability coefficient, calculated by the Darcy Law

Implementación De Sensor IMU Para La Asistencia De Nivel En Grúas Todo Terreno

    No full text

A PLZT Novel Sensor with Pt Implanted for Biomedical Application: Cardiac Micropulses Detection on Human Skin

    No full text
Advances in sensors for biomedical applications have been a great motivation. In this research, a PLZT (lead lanthanum zirconate titanate) novel sensor with platinum wire implanted in its longitudinal section was developed through of the synthesis process based on powder technology. The raw materials as lead (PbO), lanthanum (La2O3), zircon (ZrO2), and titanium (TiO2) were used in the formation of the chemical composition (62.8% PbO, 4.5% La2O3, 24.2% ZrO2, and 8.5% TiO2). Then, these powders were submitted to mix-mechanical milling at high energy; cylindrical samples with the implant of the platinum wire were obtained with the load application. Finally, the compacted samples were sintered at 1200°C for 2 hours, then followed by a polarization potential of 1500 V/mm at 60°C to obtain a novel sensor. The density and porosity were evaluated using the Archimedes’ principle, while the mechanical properties such as fracture toughness value and Young’s modulus were determined by indentation and ultrasonic methods, respectively. A microscopic examination was also carried out to investigate the structural properties of the material. The PLZT novel sensor is electronically arranged for monitoring the cardiac pulses through a data acquisition system. The results obtained in this research are analyzed and discussed

Intelligent Spectroscopy System Used for Physicochemical Variables Estimation in Sugar Cane Soils

    No full text
The current condition of soils is a major area of interest due to the lack of certainty in their physicochemical properties, which can guarantee the quality and the production of a specific crop. Additionally, methodologies to improve land management must be implemented in order to address the consequences of many environmental issues. To date, many techniques have been implemented to improve the accuracy—and more recently the speed—of analysis, in order to obtain results while in the field. Among those, Near Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy has been widely used to achieve the objectives mentioned above. Nevertheless, it requires particular knowledge, and the cost might be high for farmers who own the fields and crops. Thus, the present work uses a system that implements capacitance spectroscopy plus artificial intelligence algorithms to estimate the physicochemical variables of soil used to grow sugar cane. The device uses the frequency response of the soil to determine its magnitude and phase values, which are used by artificial intelligence algorithms that are capable of estimating the soil properties. The obtained results show errors below 8% in the estimation of the variables compared to the analysis results of the soil in laboratories. Additionally, it is a portable system, with low cost, that is easy to use and could be implemented to test other types of soils after evaluating the necessary algorithms or proposing alternatives to restore soil properties

Design of a Biomechatronic Device for Upright Mobility in People with SCI Using an Exoskeleton Like a Stabilization System

    No full text
This paper presents a novel biomechatronic device that resolves the necessities of mobility for people with spinal cord trauma (SCI) and disability. The proposed device features a safe and reliable mobility mechanism that withstands daily use without premature mechanical wear, facilitating the activities of daily living (ADL) for people affected by SCI, integrating them to a social and workforce environment that allows them, on one hand, to move in a standing upright position in complex situations of the urban architecture, and on the other hand, provides them a mechatronic system to assist them to stand up and sit down

Development and performance evaluation of moisture range system for green coffee grains

    No full text
The system presented estimates moisture in green coffee during drying process using two methods, which were capacitive sensors and mechanical load detection, to estimate it. Results show it is possible to determine coffee grains moisture from 40 to 10% humidity range, either by dielectric measurements, with a developed sensor, or dryer mechanical load, making it possible to get better storage conditions for coffee beans
