    Assessment of Dry and Wet Milling using Fabricated Burr Mill

    Size reduction processes are utilized to produce watery paste vegetables common in most developing countries. The research was executed in two parts; the first part was a survey of workers and owners of pepper grinding machine in 3 markets Nigeria, to obtain information on experience working with the machine and functionality of burr mills using Structured questionnaire .The second part involved physical measurement of the dimensions, and other engineering parameters on five randomly selected pepper grinding machines from a lot in each market, About 25.4% of the respondents has being working with burr mill for 11-15 years, 23.7% has 16-20 years’ experience while 10% of the respondents have spent above 20 years in business while 93.22% of the respondents use the machine more than three times daily. In view of this it could be deduced that the interaction of the working parts of the machine is un-ending in the sense that increase in the numbers of usage of the burr mill increases the level of wear of the working parts. The physical measurement of the component parts of the burr mill of existing machine compared to that of new machine showed that the level of wear and tear of the machines varies which is due to age of machine and frequency of usage.     RT-Kubernetes - Containerized Real-Time Cloud Computing

    This paper presents RT-Kubernetes, a software architecture with the ability to deploy real-time software components within containers in cloud infrastructures. The deployment of containers with guaranteed CPU scheduling is obtained by using a hierarchical real-time scheduler based on the Linux SCHED_DEADLINE policy. Preliminary experimental results provide evidence that this new framework succeeds in providing timeliness guarantees in the target responsiveness range, while achieving strong temporal isolation among containers co-located on the same physical hosts

    Bilateral Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation Language Treatment Enhances Functional Connectivity in the Left Hemisphere: Preliminary Data from Aphasia

    Several studies have already shown that transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a useful tool for enhancing recovery in aphasia. However, no reports to date have investigated functional connectivity changes on cortical activity because of tDCS language treatment. Here, nine aphasic persons with articulatory disorders underwent an intensive language therapy in two different conditions: bilateral anodic stimulation over the left Broca's area and cathodic contralesional stimulation over the right homologue of Broca's area and a sham condition. The language treatment lasted 3 weeks (Monday to Friday, 15 sessions). In all patients, language measures were collected before (T0) and at the end of treatment (T15). Before and after each treatment condition (real vs. sham), each participant underwent a resting-state fMRI study. Results showed that, after real stimulation, patients exhibited the greatest recovery not only in terms of better accuracy in articulating the treated stimuli but also for untreated items on different tasks of the language test. Moreover, although after the sham condition connectivity changes were confined to the right brain hemisphere, real stimulation yielded to stronger functional connectivity increase in the left hemisphere. In conclusion, our data provide converging evidence from behavioral and functional imaging data that bilateral tDCS determines functional connectivity changes within the lesioned hemisphere, enhancing the language recovery process in stroke patients

    Rethinking the Building Envelope as an Intelligent Community Hub for Renewable Energy Sharing

    The widespread use of electric vehicles is hampered by the lack of an adequate charging points network. Likewise, and depending on the use, there could be a lack of correspondence between energy use and production in buildings equipped with renewable energy production systems. For these reasons, a modular device, which could be fully integrated into the building envelope, has been developed. The aim of the project was both to regenerate the existing building envelope and to enhance the newest one, adding new functions. The main goal will be the support of the growth of an electric power-sharing attitude capable of promoting the widespread use of electric vehicles of electric vehicle (EV), supporting strategic actions to retrofit/convert a private building in shared spaces for EV mobility, ensuring enough coverage for charging devices and reducing costs for public administration
