Synthesis of iodine‐125 labelled analogues of metyrapone and metyrapol

Metyrapone (1) and metyrapol (2) are potent and reversible inhibitors of the 11β‐hydroxylase enzyme system of the adrenal cortex. Iodine‐125‐labelled derivatives of 1 and 2 were required for biodistribution studies. Utilizing a new exchange procedure these radioiodinated analogues were synthesized with radiochemical yields ranging from 24‐100% and specific activities as high as 1.72 Ci/mmol.Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/90279/1/2580201209_ftp.pd

Optimal Grazing Termination Date for Dual-Purpose Winter Wheat Production

    Get PDF
Dual-purpose winter wheat (fall-winter forage plus grain) production is an important economic enterprise in the southern Great Plains. Grazing termination to enable grain production is a critical decision. The objective is to determine the optimal grazing termination date for dual-purpose wheat. The value of knowing the occurrence of first hollow stem (FHS), a wheat growth threshold for grazing termination, is also determined. Results indicate that for most price situations grazing should be terminated at or before FHS. Marginal wheat returns from extended grazing were negative and the value of FHS information ranges from 1.50to1.50 to 10 per acre.dual-purpose, first hollow stem, plateau function, stocker cattle, value of information, wheat, Agribusiness, Agricultural Finance, Crop Production/Industries, Farm Management, Land Economics/Use, Livestock Production/Industries, Production Economics, Q12, Q16,

FACTORS OF COFFEE SHOP REVISIT INTENTION AND WORD-OF-MOUTH MEDIATED BY CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

    Get PDF
To create value that would surpass the expectation of coffee drinkers is pivotal for coffee shop business. However, only a few businesses are able to provide better and non-homogenous value for the customers. The main factors that would influence customer satisfaction of coffee shops are still yet to be further explored. Hence, this study aims to look into the determinants of customer satisfaction of coffee shops and to examine its influence towards revisit intention and word-of-mouth. Online survey questionnaires were distributed to the customers and 155 samples were gathered from March to June 2018. The findings showed that atmosphere and service quality factors had positive effects on customer satisfaction, while the variety of menu was not significant to the satisfaction, the fact that the satisfied customers would likely have the intention to revisit and spread word-of-mout

    1,2-Dihydroxy-2-(3-methylbut-2-enyl)-3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-indene-1-carboxylic acid monohydrate

The title compound, C15H16O5·H2O, is an intermediate of the Hooker oxidation reaction, used for the synthesis of 2-hydroxy-3-(2-methylprop-1-enyl)naphthalene-1,4-dione (nor-lapachol). The packing in the crystal structure is arranged by an O—H⋯O hydrogen-bonded network along the [100] and [010] directions. Each organic molecule is linked to four other molecules via the hydroxy groups. The water solvent molecule is connected to carboxylic acid groups by three hydrogen bonds

Flying Saucer of the Smokies: The Debate Over National Park Architecture and Wilderness Values in Clingmans Dome Observation Tower

    Get PDF
Clingmans Dome Observation Tower sits on the highest point in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It was constructed in 1959 as part of a ten-year project called Mission 66. Although Mission 66 is a critical component of National Park history, most people are unaware it happened. This thesis will use criticism of Clingmans Dome Observation Tower to demonstrate that critiques of Modern architectural style within the National Parks was a proxy for conflict about interpretations of wilderness and how National Parks should be used. The architectural style from this era is called Park Service Modern, and it was widespread and controversial. Conservation groups, like the National Parks Association, criticized modern designs in the parks because they believed the style did not harmonize with the scenery and purpose of the parks. This paper will show how negative opinions about Park Service Modern were tied to fear of park development. The aesthetic preference of conservationists is not in and of itself connected to the sustainability of the designs and materials, but, rather, it is connected to the representation of urban spaces in wilderness. By looking at the design, construction, and response of Clingmans Dome Observation Tower, within the context of park architectural history and the concept of wilderness at the time, it is clear that the contention over architectural style in the parks is rooted in a disagreement over the use and purpose of the National Parks. Clingmans Dome Observation Tower sits at the crux of the conflict: accessibility and wilderness

A RELATIONAL PERSPECTIVE ON TURNOVER: EXAMINING AFFECTIVE, CONTINUANCE, AND NORMATIVE PREDICTORS

    Get PDF
High rate for employee turnover intention may lead to significant expenses of an organization, including the direct costs of replacing an employee and the indirect costs related to loss of experience and lowered productivity. The aim of the study is to investigate the influence of organizational commitment toward the employee turnover. The research method used in the study is quantitative approach. The primary data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 100 employees of a state-owned electricity corporation in Jakarta, Indonesia. Multiple linear regression shows that all three components of organizational commitment: affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment significantly influenced employee turnover intention

Synthesis of pyrazoline derivatives from the 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions using α,β-unsaturated cyclohexanone derivatives

A series of 2-pyrazolines (3a-d) were obtained by reaction 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions of α,β-unsaturated cyclohexanone derivatives (2a-c) with hydrazine hydrate and 4-nitrophenylhydrazine in the presence of acetic acid and ethanol as solvents. The structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by spectroscopic methods; IR, 1H and 13C NMR

THE READINESS OF THE VILLAGE COMMUNITY "PASIRMULYA" TO DEVELOP A TOURIST HERITAGE DESTINATION COFFEE PUNTANG

Pasir Mulya village community has the potential to become a tourist destination village, but it has not been realized until now. Therefore, there needs to be analytical factors that become strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats about the potential of this village. The method used to use SWOT analysis by interviewing some local government officials in formulating tourism village strategy. The results of this research found that the readiness of Pasir Mulya village community has more strengths factor than weakness factor, opportunities factors than threats factors, defensive retrenchment strategy according to SWOT matrix, and aggressive position space matrix strategy through into a tourist destination village. Villagers and village officials should  a manage of solidarity that is high in the image of a friendly village, develop a heritage from the Malabar radio station site and the Dutch historical site, and promote the coffee Arabica Puntang the coffee-winning organic coffee in Atlanta
