    Pedagogical approaches and journalism education provided by international media support in Somalia: a case study

    International media organizations to support journalism education in Somalia have been participating actively in the reconstruction of the local media landscape followed by the withdrawal of Al-Shabaab troops in 2011. Although regular since then, the presence of international support has been changing along with the years, with different organizations coming and going, attempting to bring their respective approaches following the dynamics of the local development. The programmes for journalism training provided by the Finnish organization Vikes comprise this case study due to their distinctive feature in comparison with its homologous organizations that have been or are currently running educational projects in Somalia, given Vikes's participatory and peer-learning methods. The present research investigated Vikes's educational approaches and the purposes behind the organization’s training programmes from their inception, in 2014, until the first quarter of 2020. The theoretical framework of the study considered prominent conceptions of the Freirean Critical Pedagogy to observe the role of the facilitators, also called trainers, as well as Vikes's proposals for journalism education in collaboration with its Somali local partners, such as the national broadcasting channel SNTV and journalists’ unions. The data collected from a series of classified and issued documents in parallel to nine one-to-one interviews with Vikes's facilitators and insiders were analysed by the means of a mixed technique of descriptive narrative. The data analysis intended to achieve an in-depth understanding of the logic and functions behind the training programmes.     Random Primordial Magnetic Fields and the Gas Content of Dark Matter Halos

    We recently predicted the existence of random primordial magnetic fields (RPMF) in the form of randomly oriented cells with dipole-like structure with a cell size L0L_0 and an average magnetic field B0B_0. Here we investigate models for primordial magnetic field with a similar web-like structure, and other geometries, differing perhaps in L0L_0 and B0B_0. The effect of RPMF on the formation of the first galaxies is investigated. The filtering mass, MFM_F, is the halo mass below which baryon accretion is severely depressed. We show that these RPMF could influence the formation of galaxies by altering the filtering mass and the baryon gas fraction of a halo, fgf_g. The effect is particularly strong in small galaxies. We find, for example, for a comoving B_0=0.1\muG, and a reionization epoch that starts at zs=11z_s=11 and ends at ze=8z_e=8, for L0=100pcL_0=100\,\text{pc} at z=12z=12, the fgf_g becomes severely depressed for M<10^7\msun, whereas for B0=0B_0=0 the fgf_g becomes severely depressed only for much smaller masses, M<10^5\msun. Curso de Química.As propriedades de misturas de poli(oxietileno) (PEO) e colato de sódio (NaC) em solução tampão tris/HCl, pH 9,00, 25oC foram aqui investigadas por meio de condutividade elétrica e medidas de tensão superficial. Para ter-se suporte consistente na discussão dos perfis de condutividade específica e medidas de tensão superficial para a mistura PEO-NaC, foram feitos experimentos paralelos com o sistema já conhecido PEO-dodecil sulfato de sódio (SDS). Também foram realizados experimentos com misturas de NaC e SDS na ausência e em presença de PEO. As medidas dos parâmetros de associação, concentração micelar crítica (cmc), concentração de agregação crítica (cac), o ponto de saturação do polímero (psp) e outras características como a inclinação nos perfis de condutividade, o efeito da concentração do polímero nos parâmetros cac e psp e a importância da associação polímero surfactante foram aqui investigadas. Os resultados foram expressos em termos de gráficos de condutividade específica e tensão superficial versus a concentração dos surfactantes. Teorias baseadas em conceitos de micelização de mistura de surfactantes foram aplicadas para simular a variação da concentração crítica micelar função na mistura. Os resultados levaram à conclusão de que não existe a convencional interação entre polímero-surfactante para o sistema PEO-NaC. No entanto, a adição de SDS a mistura regenera o processo associativo formando complexo PEO-SDS-NaC, cujas características estruturais e físico químicas são fortemente dependentes das frações molares dos surfactantes
