Közművelődési törekvések Magyarországon a felvilágosodás idején és a reformkorban = Adult Education in Hungary in the Enlightenment and in the Reformed Age
A kutatás részeredményeit hazai (ELTE, ONK) és külföldi (Turku, London, New York, Marosvásárhely, Nyitra) konferenciákon ismertettük. A kutatás fontos eredményének tekinthető az a bibliográfiai összeállítás (A felvilágosodás idején és a reformkorban megjelent népfelvilágosító kiadványok. Könyvészeti függelék. In: Fehér Katalin: Népfelvilágosító törekvések Magyarországon 1777-1849. 221-253.) mely elsőként tekinti át a teljességre törekedve a hazai nyomtatásban megjelent népfelvilágosító irodalmat. Szintén jelentős eredmény a témára vonatkozó, mindeddig ismeretlen nagy mennyiségű kéziratos forrásanyag feltárása és feldolgozása. A digitalizált forrásszövegeket egyetemi oktatómunkánk során felhasználjuk az andragógiatörténet tárgy keretében. | The purpose of our research was to explore the efforts of educate the adult people in Hungary in the Age of Enlightenment and in the Reformed Age. In this project we would examined the different forms of adult education based on contemporary primary sources. These sources were: the contemporary calendars, press, books, sermons etc. After discovering the sources, the main fields of the research were: 1. The educational policy and the adult education during the period; 2. The opinion of the Hungarian intellectuals about the necessarity of education of adults; 3. The most frequently appearing problems in connection with the education of adults in the Hungarian press; 4. The institutes of adult education, (public libraries, associations etc.); 5. The outstanding figures and teh most important books of the Hungarian public enlightenment between 1772 and 1849. The results of the project: A monography (Katalin Feher: People Enlightenment in Hungary 1777-1849. Budapest, 2009.), a source-collection, (The Sources of the Hungarian Adult Education. Ed. Challenges in the thermal modeling of highly porous carbon foams
The heat pulse experiment is a well-known method for determining thermal
diffusivity. However, neither the measurement nor the evaluation methodologies
are straightforward for heterogeneous, highly porous materials. In the present
paper, we focus on two open-cell carbon foam types, differing in their porosity
but having the same size. Recent experiments showed that a non-Fourier
behaviour, called 'over-diffusive' propagation, is probably present for such a
complex structure. The (continuum) Guyer-Krumhansl equation stands as a
promising candidate to model such transient thermal behaviour. In order to
obtain a reliable evaluation and thus reliable thermal parameters, we utilize a
novel, state-of-the-art evaluation procedure developed recently using an
analytical solution of the Guyer-Krumhansl equation. Based on our observations,
it turned out that the presence of high porosity alone is necessary but not
satisfactory for non-Fourier behaviour. Additionally, the mentioned non-Fourier
effects are porosity-dependent. However, porous samples can also follow the
Fourier law. These data serve as a basis to correctly identify the
characteristic heat transfer mechanisms and their corresponding time scales,
which altogether result in the present non-Fourier behaviour. Keywords: flash
experiments, non-Fourier heat conduction, highly porous carbon foams
Relationship between Cultural Origin of Multinational Companies and Employing Expatriates in Foreign Subsidiaries in Central and Eastern Europe
In the present study, we examine the question of whether the cultural characteristics of the country of the parent company are related to the posting practices of the parent company. According to our hypothesis, the management culture of the sending (parent) company influences the employment of foreign expats in local subsidiaries. In this research we use interviews and multivariate statistical analysis of survey data from five CEE countries, an important but relatively less examined region for global HR mobility. We found a significant relationship between cultural differences and expatriate assignment practices of MNCs. However, based on the strength of the relationship, we can conclude that in addition to management culture, other influencing factors typically influence posting decisions. Our results support Hofstede’s suggestion about the cultural dependence of management methods from a specific, management of expatriates, perspective
BDNF Val66Met polymorphism and stressful life events in melancholic childhood-onset depression
INTRODUCTION: Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)
polymorphisms have been examined for their contribution
toward depression with equivocal results. More homogeneous
phenotypes might be used to improve our understanding of
genetic liability to depression. The aim of our study was to
(a) test for an association between the BDNF Val66Met
polymorphism and childhood-onset melancholic depression and
(b) to examine the interactive effects of stressful life
events (SLE) and the Val66Met polymorphism on the risk of
childhood-onset melancholic depression. MATERIALS AND
METHODS: A total of 583 depressed probands were involved in
this study (162 of the melancholic subtype). Diagnoses were
derived through the Interview Schedule for Children and
Adolescents - Diagnostic Version and life event data were
collected using an Intake General Information Sheet. RESULTS:
Overall, 27.8% of the participants fulfilled the criteria for
melancholy. In the melancholic group, the proportion of
females was higher (53.1%), although there were more males in
the overall depressed sample. We detected no significant
differences in genotype or allele frequency between the
melancholic and the nonmelancholic depressed group. The BDNF
Val66Met polymorphism and SLE interaction was not
significantly associated with the melancholy outcome.
CONCLUSION: In our study, females were more prone to
developing the early-onset melancholic phenotype. To our
knowledge, this is the first study to investigate the
differentiating effect of the genotype and the GxE
interaction on the melancholic phenotype in a large sample of
depressed young patients. We did not find an association
between the melancholic subtype of major depression and the
BDNF genotype and SLE interaction in this sample, which is
representative of the Hungarian clinic-referred population
of depressed youths
Genetic analysis of the RELN gene: gender specific association with Alzheimer’s disease
Association between genetic variants of the reelin (RELN) gene and the risk for developing Alzheimer’s disease (AD) was examined in a sample of 432 patients and 308 controls. Single marker and haplotype analyses revealed that the strongly linked rs528528 and rs607755 polymorphisms are associated with AD risk in a gender specific manner. Among men, but not in women the rs528528 T/T and rs607755 A/A genotypes were significantly associated with the susceptibility to AD
Architectural drawing and education
The Department of History of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of BUTE owns a remarkable plan collection that has been established in the period from about the 1860’s to the present. Plans created in university education are of special importance – they give a general idea of architecture as a creative activity along with its complex background of art and science. Education of architects initially emphasized the copying and surveying of buildings which gradually developed through specialised design tasks to the creation of new values. The main focus of the research is to follow and evaluate this change of approach, by extending the scope of the investigations beyond the department’s collections. By charting and analysing the remained stock of historical drawings, sample books and photos in the period from the mid 19th till the mid 20th century, as well as assessing former publications and databases, this project hopes to give an overview of the role and importance of drawings in the history of architectural education. This paper aims at establishing and highlighting the main criteria and principles for the assessment of the plan material, defining also the methodology for its processin
A reelin rs2299356 polimorfizmus vizsgálata Alzheimer-kórban
Vizsgáltuk a hipotézist, hogy a RELN gén rs2299356 polimorfizmusa önmagában, illetve a demenciákban rizikótényezőnek tekintett apolipoprotein E (APOE) ɛ4-es alléllal interakcióban összefüggésbe hozható a késői kezdetű AK kialakulására való fogékonysággal.
A vizsgálat a Bolyai János Kutatási Ösztöndíj támogatásával készült
