La Fundación para la Educación Ambiental ha acordado estos ocho principios educativos para guiar su trabajo hacia la excelencia en educación ambiental y la educación para el desarrollo sostenible. La Fundación (Foundation for Environmental Education, FEE) es una organización privada, no-gubernamental. Está formada por más de 100 organizaciones no gubernamentales de 74 países de los cinco continentes y desarrolla cinco programas internacionales: Blue Flag, Eco-schools, Young Reporters for Environment, Green Key y Learning About Forest

An evaluation of the effects of the smoking ban at an acute NHS trust

The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of a complete smoking ban at an NHS Trust focusing on the attitudes, compliance and smoking behaviour of NHS Staff on the smoke-free NHS policy. Questionnaires were distributed to staff 17 months after the Trust implemented its smoking ban and two months before the nationwide smoking ban. Although the study showed that a significant proportion of respondents were in favour of the ban (78.3%), results also suggested that many staff felt that designated areas should be provided for those who smoked. Positive staff attitudes towards the ban did not seem to affect actual behaviour as staff continued to smoke on hospital grounds. This study suggests that more work is needed to enforce the smoke-free policy and increase awareness of workplace smoking cessation interventions in order to change smoking behaviour in this workplace

Eco-Schools : engaging the youth of today to protect the planet of tomorrow

Eco-Schools is the largest global sustainable schools programme, being implemented in over 68 countries. It starts in the classroom and expands to the community by engaging the next generation in action-based learning. Through this programme, young people experience a sense of achievement at being able to have a say in the environmental management policies of their schools, ultimately steering them towards certification and the prestige which comes with being awarded a Green Flag. Eco-Schools is owned and run globally by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE)

Changing together : Eco-Schools 1994-2019

«Changing Together» was developed by the Foundation for Environmental Education on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the Eco-Schools programme. This publication is a collection of the many inspiring Eco-Schools stories that have been unfolding all around the globe for the past 25 years since the programme’s inception. Started in 1994, the Eco-Schools programme has grown to be the largest school programme focused on Environmental Education and Education for Sustainable Development. It is a shining light into how the world can become a better place for today’s and future generations, and we are beholden to our national operators and the more than 59,000 participating schools around the world who are the heartbeat of the Eco-Schools programme

Green Key’s policy clarifying scope, non-discrimination, impartiality, confidentiality and objectivity

Green Key is a voluntary eco-label awarded to current six categories of establishments notes: hotels & hostels, campsites & holiday parks, small accommodations, conference centres, restaurants and tourist attractions. As stated in its policies, Green Key does not discriminate any interested, applicant or participating establishments regardless of the location of the establishment, the size or type of establishment, the customers attracted by the applicant establishment, or the contact persons and employees (their origin, religion, age, sex, etc.) from the applicant establishment working with Green Key. Green key is also committed to impartiality, confidentiality, and the objectivity of its activities
