El sujeto sexual en las teologías queer: ¿Implicaciones para una Teología Queer Latinoamericana de la Liberación?
The subject of human sexuality has always been the subject of various discourses that have generated different debates throughout human history and Christianity. Today more than in the past arises the discussion from the sexual marginality and it is queer theory that tries to give voice to these margins, and identities questioning the heteropatriarcal gender and the sexuality. In this way, the present article discusses the various aspects that queer theory brings with its beginning and then how this sexual subject produces queer theologies. Finally, some implications of queer theologies with Latin American Liberation Theology are discussed
Hollywood and History : Spike Lee's "Malcolm X"
121 leaves. Advisor: Michael CheneyThe debate between historical fiction and historical fact has long been an issue of film and television theorists in relationship to
historical representations in film and television productions. Recently, films such as Oliver Stone's "JFK" have raised questions on the concept of "truthtelling" in historical films produced by Hollywood that are aimed at mainstream audiences.
The concept of "truthtelling" has become further clouded by Hollywood filmmakers who are using documentary film techniques in their recreations of historical events and figures. This master's
thesis uses Spike Lee's "Malcolm X" as a case study on historical filmmaking in Hollywood. This thesis focuses on Lee's recreation of the life of Malcolm X in relationship to historical accuracy in a big budget Hollywood film.
In order to assess Lee's film within a proper context, this thesis first gives an introduction to the techniques of documentary and historical filmmaking. Next, Lee's personal history, film career, and the events leading up to the production of "Malcolm X" are presented.
Then, the historical and cultural context of Malcolm's life in the present and past is discussed. Finally, Lee's "Malcolm X" is examined
from a critical standpoint.
The critical analysis centers on how faithful Lee recreates the story of Malcolm X's life and he uses documentary and other film techniques in Malcolm X. The analysis also gives consideration to the financial demands of Hollywood and how they directly affect Lee's film
Characterization of a 0.35-Micron-Based Analog MPPT IC at Various Process Corners
An analogue maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller integrated circuit (IC) based on ripple correlation control was modified for low voltage applications in this study to harvest the maximum power from the photovoltaic array or solar panel under partial shading and changes in temperature. The IC was implemented in TSMC 0.35um 2P4M 5V mixed-signal CMOS technology. It was simulated at various process corners namely: typical-typical (TT); slow-slow (SS); fast-fast (FF); slow-fast (SF); and fast-slow (FS). The simulation results showed that at a 400 W/m2 solar irradiance and 25 degrees Celsius temperature, the tracking efficiencies are 99.18%, 98.55%, 98.89%, 98.96%, and 98.90% at different process corners, TT, FF, FS, SF, and SS, respectively
Determination of Sugar Level and the Existence of Magic Sugar in Various Beverages using a Glucose Meter with Four-Point Probe and Electrochemical Impedance
Nowadays, people are being inconsiderate about the healthy lifestyle that might lead us to be unhealthy and be prone to developing tumors in the kidney due to some kind of sugar being used. In order to minimize these problems, the team will raise people awareness. Raising people awareness is not the same as telling them what to do. It is about giving them the knowledge to let them decide for themselves. This is why the team developed a device that can measure the sugar level and determine the existence of magic sugar in various beverages. The device is composed of two major parts: first is the circuit that will measure the impedance of a liquid sample and second, is a four-point probe, which includes a microcontroller that will display and interpret the results. The Four-point probe applies the concept of Wenner method and Electrochemical Impedance. After constructing the device, the team performed its calibration that requires different liquid samples. Based on its gathered data, different graphical representations were formulated and translated into mathematical equations in order to integrate it onto the microcontroller. Whenever the microcontroller encounters an unknown solution, it can determine the sugar level and classify the type of sugar being used
CMOS Readout Circuit Developments for Ion Sensitive Field Effect Transistor Based Sensor Applications
Multi-user Glucose Meter with Insulin Dosage Recommendation
Diabetes (Diabetes mellitus) is a metabolic disease that occurs either when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin to regulate blood sugar or when the body itself cannot effectively use the insulin it produces, it leads to increased concentration of glucose in the blood. The most advanced glucose meter module available in the market does not have the capability to create a profile for multiple users and save the test readings they make. In this study, a glucose meter module is modified to effectively store blood glucose reading under a user’s profile for blood glucose monitoring purposes. After the reading has been completed, a pop-up window will appear which will show the user the recommended starting dose based on the weight and condition of the user. The accuracy of the device in providing glucose reading is similar to the ones available in the market since the researchers used a commercially available glucose meter modules and innovated it to do additional functions
