The title compound, C20H18Cl2F2N2O5, is considered to belong to the fourth generation of insecticides with properties such as high selectivity, low acute toxicity for mammals and high biological activity. An intramolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bond results in the formation of a six-membered ring. In the crystal structure, intermolecular N—H⋯O and C—H⋯F hydrogen bonds link the molecules

    Construction of orthonormal wavelet-like bases

A general method for constructing wavelet-like bases in a Hilbert space H starting from any orthonormal basis in H and any periodic orthonormal wavelet basis is presented. With this method we can take advantage of the characteristics of both types of bases to obtain orthonormal wavelet-like bases that are suitable to represent functions and operators efficiently.Fil: Morillas, Patricia Mariela. ABSTRACTIn the present study, we investigated the therapeutic effect of a classical TCM formula, Free Wanderer Powder (逍遙散 xiāo yáo sǎn), in a breast cancer mouse model induced with estrogen-insensitive breast cancer 4T1 cells. Ovariectomized Balb/c mice (6-8 weeks) or sham mice were injected into the fourth mammary fat pad with 4T1 cells in which tumors were palpable 7days after injection. On the eighth day, the mice were divided into 4 groups and tubefed daily with vehicle, Free Wanderer Powder (逍遙散 xiāo yáo sǎn) formula or tamoxifen for 28days. Tumor growth inhibition and the decrease of the average tumor mass were most evident in mice treated with Free Wanderer Powder (逍遙散 xiāo yáo sǎn). Free Wanderer Powder (逍遙散 xiāo yáo sǎn) treatment significantly reduced Bcl-2 and elevated Bax and p53 protein expressions in breast cancer tumor. These results were further confirmed by immunohistochemisty. Tamoxifen could decrease spleen mass and Bcl-2 protein expression, increase the Bax protein expression as well as exert uterotrophic effects by increasing uterus index and inducing the gene expressions in the uterus. Taken together, these results show that Free Wanderer Powder (逍遙散 xiāo yáo sǎn) treatment induced apoptosis at protein level and inhibited the tumor growth in 4T1-induced ovariectomized Balb/c female mice, indicating the possibility of its future use for treatment of estrogen-insensitive breast caner

Spin Degree of Freedom in a Two-Dimensional Electron Liquid

We have investigated correlation between spin polarization and magnetotransport in a high mobility silicon inversion layer which shows the metal-insulator transition. Increase in the resistivity in a parallel magnetic field reaches saturation at the critical field for the full polarization evaluated from an analysis of low-field Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations. By rotating the sample at various total strength of the magnetic field, we found that the normal component of the magnetic field at minima in the diagonal resistivity increases linearly with the concentration of ``spin-up'' electrons.Comment: 4 pages, RevTeX, 6 eps-figures, to appear in PR

    Entanglement Dynamics in Anti-PT\mathcal{PT}-Symmetric Systems

In the past years, many efforts have been made to study various noteworthy phenomena in both parity-time (PT\mathcal{PT}) and anti-parity-time (APT\mathcal{APT}) symmetric systems. However, entanglement dynamics in APT\mathcal{APT}-symmetric systems has not previously been investigated in both theory and experiments. Here, we investigate the entanglement evolution of two qubits in an APT\mathcal{APT}-symmetric system. In the APT\mathcal{APT}-symmetric unbroken regime, our theoretical simulations demonstrate the periodic oscillations of entanglement when each qubit evolves identically, while the nonperiodic oscillations of entanglement when each qubit evolves differently. In particular, when each qubit evolves near the exceptional point in the APT\mathcal{APT}-symmetric unbroken regime, there exist entanglement sudden vanishing and revival. Moreover, our simulations demonstrate rapid decay and delayed death of entanglement provided one qubit evolves in the APT\mathcal{APT}-symmetric broken regime. In this work, we also perform an experiment with a linear optical setup. The experimental results agree well with our theoretical simulation results. Our findings reveal novel phenomena of entanglement evolution in the APT\mathcal{APT}-symmetric system and opens a new direction for future studies on the dynamics of quantum entanglement in multiqubit APT\mathcal{APT}-symmetric systems or other non-Hermitian quantum systems.Comment: 13 pages, 8 figure

In the sulfone molecule of the title compound, C12H12N2O2S·C2H3N, the two benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 80.69 (3)°. Weak intramolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds result in the formation of two five-membered rings, which both have envelope conformations. In the crystal structure, intermolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules
