    Analysis of a mode-I crack perpendicular to an imperfect interface

    AbstractThe elastostatic problem of a mode-I crack embedded in a bimaterial with an imperfect interface is investigated. The crack is in proximity to and perpendicular to the imperfect interface, which is governed by linear spring-like relations. The Fourier transform is applied to reduce the associated mixed-boundary value problem to a singular integral equation with Cauchy kernel. By numerically solving the resulting equation, stress intensity factors near both crack tips are evaluated. Obtained results reveal that the stress intensity factors in the presence of the imperfect interface vary between that with a perfect interface and that with a completely debonding interface. Moreover, an increase in the interface parameters decreases the stress intensity factors. In particular, when crack approaches to the weakened interface closer, the stress intensity factors become larger for a sliding interface, and become larger or smaller for a Winkler interface, depending on the crack lying in a stiffer or softer material. The influences of the imperfection of the interface on the stress intensity factors for a bimaterial composed of aluminum and steel are presented graphically

    The paper analyzes the relationship between phlegm stagnation and coronary heart disease (CHD) from the perspectives of the origin of phlegm stagnation theory, phlegm stagnation pathogenesis of CHD, and its clinical application in treatment of CHD. It proposes that CHD be cured from phlegm stagnation theory since deficiency of vital energy results in phlegm stagnation. It could also deepen our understanding of CHD and improve overall level of Traditional Chinese Medicine prevention and treatment of CHD.本文从痰瘀学说的提出、冠心病的痰瘀病机、证候及其在冠心病治疗中的应用等方面,论述了痰瘀学说的渊源、冠心病的痰瘀病机及其证型,提出了冠心病“脏气虚于内、痰瘀痹于中”的病机学说及从痰瘀论治的辨证思路,认为将痰瘀学说这一理论用于冠心病的防治,有利于我们对冠心病的认识从理论上进一步深化,并指导临床遣方用药,提高冠心病的中医整体防治水平

    Distinct Role of IL-27 in Immature and LPS-Induced Mature Dendritic Cell-Mediated Development of CD4

    Interleukin-27 (IL-27) plays an important role in regulation of anti-inflammatory responses and autoimmunity; however, the molecular mechanisms of IL-27 in modulation of immune tolerance and autoimmunity have not been fully elucidated. Dendritic cells (DCs) play a central role in regulating immune responses mediated by innate and adaptive immune systems, but regulatory mechanisms of DCs in CD4+ T cell-mediated immune responses have not yet been elucidated. Here we show that IL-27 treated mature DCs induced by LPS inhibit immune tolerance mediated by LPS-stimulated DCs. IL-27 treatment facilitates development of the CD4+ CD127+3G11+ regulatory T cell subset in vitro and in vivo. By contrast, IL-27 treated immature DCs fail to modulate development of the CD4+CD127+3G11+ regulatory T cell sub-population in vitro and in vivo. Our results suggest that IL-27 may break immune tolerance induced by LPS-stimulated mature DCs through modulating development of a specific CD4+ regulatory T cell subset mediated by 3G11 and CD127. Our data reveal a new cellular regulatory mechanism of IL-27 that targets DC-mediated immune responses in autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS) and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). © 2018 Zhou, Zhang and Rostami
