    Why Is Maternal Control Harmful? The Relation between Maternal Control, Insecure Attachment and Antisocial Personality Disorder Features in Chinese College Students:A Sequential Mediation Model

    Background: Previous work has indicated that a negative parenting style is associated with antisocial personality disorder features in Chinese college students, yet few studies have explored the unique role of negative mothering in children’s antisocial personality disorder. Methods: The current study mainly examined the sequential mediation effect of parental antipathy and neglect (PAN) and mother negative loving (a form of insecure attachment) in the association between mother control and adulthood antisocial personality disorder features (ASPD features) in the framework of attachment theory and cognitive–behavioral theory. A community sample of 1547 Chinese college students filled in the Parental Bonding Instrument, the Childhood Experience of Care and Abuse Questionnaire, the Adult Attachment Questionnaire and the Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire-4+. Results: A sequential mediation model analysis showed that maternal control significantly predicted PAN, mother negative loving, as well as ASPD features. Conclusions: Mother control and mother negative loving appear to advance on the development and exacerbation of ASPD features in college students

    Model-based reinforcement learning for service mesh fault resiliency in a web application-level

    Microservice-based architectures enable different aspects of web applications to be created and updated independently, even after deployment. Associated technologies such as service mesh provide application-level fault resilience through attribute configurations that govern the behavior of request - response service -- and the interactions among them -- in the presence of failures. While this provides tremendous flexibility, the configured values of these attributes -- and the relationships among them -- can significantly affect the performance and fault resilience of the overall application. Furthermore, it is impossible to determine the best and worst combinations of attribute values with respect to fault resiliency via testing, due to the complexities of the underlying distributed system and the many possible attribute value combinations. In this paper, we present a model-based reinforcement learning workflow towards service mesh fault resiliency. Our approach enables the prediction of the most significant fault resilience behaviors at a web application-level, scratching from single service to aggregated multi-service management with efficient agent collaborations.</p

    Interrelationships between Acoustic Emission and Cutting Force in Rock Cutting

    Cutting force is the key signal to realize intelligent control of shearer and mastering the change process of cutting force is helpful to improve the adaptive cutting of shearer. In this paper, full scale rock cutting tests are used to carry out single pick cutting experiments on three kinds of coal, and the acoustic emission (AE) signals of coal and rock cutting are monitored in the whole process. The relationship between AE and cutting force is also discussed. The results show that the development of AE energy can represent the different stages of the cutting process, and the time fractal dimension of AE energy can reveal the change law of coal structure stability. In addition, the acoustic emission waveform at the peak cutting force of the same kind of coal has the same main frequency, power spectrum density (PSD) variation law, and the area under PSD curve; for different types of coal, the area under PSD curve at peak cutting force increases with the increase of USC. In the cutting process, the AE signal has obvious characteristics and internal evolution law in energy amplitude, fractal dimension, and PSD index. The change characteristics of AE energy can be used as the precursor information of the peak cutting force, and the coal failure at the peak cutting force has the identity.     Application Effect of Sludge Extract in the Planting of Zinnia elegans

    [Objectives] The research aimed to study the effect of sludge extract on the growth of Zinnia elegans, and evaluate its possibility of application. [Methods] Z. elegans was taken as research object, and the effect of sludge extract on the growth indexes of Z. elegans was studied. [Results] The sludge extract can obviously promote the growth of Z. elegans, and the growth indexes were significantly improved when compared with the control group. The application effect was close to that of foliar fertilizer purchased in the market. In each treatment group, the low concentration of sludge extract did not significantly promote the growth of Z. elegans, while too high concentration could inhibit its growth, and the optimal dilution ratio was 600 times. [Conclusions] Further preparation of amino acid foliar fertilizer from sludge extract and its application in planting garden plants can realize the resource utilization of sludge and has a good development and application prospect

    Quantitative Assessment of Nanoparticle Biodistribution by Fluorescence Imaging, Revisited

    Fluorescence-based whole-body imaging is widely used in the evaluation of nanoparticles (NPs) in small animals, often combined with quantitative analysis to indicate their spatiotemporal distribution following systemic administration. An underlying assumption is that the fluorescence label represents NPs and the intensity increases with the amount of NPs and/or the labeling dyes accumulated in the region of interest. We prepare DiR-loaded poly­(lactic-<i>co</i>-glycolic acid) (PLGA) NPs with different surface layers (polyethylene glycol with and without folate terminus) and compare the distribution of fluorescence signals in a mouse model of folate-receptor-expressing tumors by near-infrared fluorescence whole-body imaging. Unexpectedly, we observe that fluorescence distribution patterns differ far more dramatically with DiR loading than with the surface ligand, reaching opposite conclusions with the same type of NPs (tumor-specific delivery <i>vs</i> predominant liver accumulation). Analysis of DiR-loaded PLGA NPs reveals that fluorescence quenching, dequenching, and signal saturation, which occur with the increasing dye content and local NP concentration, are responsible for the conflicting interpretations. This study highlights the critical need for validating fluorescence labeling of NPs in the quantitative analysis of whole-body imaging. In light of our observation, we make suggestions for future whole-body fluorescence imaging in the <i>in vivo</i> evaluation of NP behaviors

    BackgroundPrior studies have explored the association between perceived parental rejection-warmth and adolescents’ rumination, but it is unclear whether the interaction between perceived parental rejection and warmth can predict adolescents’ rumination in a Chinese context and whether this interaction varies by children’s gender during the post-COVID-19 era.ObjectiveThis study aimed to address these issues in Chinese early adolescents from a family system perspective.MethodsA total of 910 adolescents (Mage = 13.63, 48.50% female) from two middle schools in Chongqing and Changsha, China participated in the survey, answering measures for demographics, perceived parental rejection-warmth, and rumination.ResultsThe results show that adolescents’ rumination was positively related to perceived paternal rejection (r = 0.326, p ConclusionsPerceived Parental rejection and parental warmth co-exist in the Chinese family system, and they exert an interactive effect on adolescents’ rumination depending on their gender. It implies that both parents should be more accepting, caring, considerate, and warm toward their daughters, and it is also in line with the tradition and status quo of parenting in Chinese families. These findings have implications for Chinese parental co-parenting practices in families with adolescents and adolescence mental health counseling work.</p
