Arts professionals straddle two worlds: the world of the artist and the world of the manager. This course concentrates on the various forms of arts writing, promotion, and institutional communications relevant to the arts administrator. Skills in written and oral communication are developed through a cycle of writings directed towards basic arts and media relations principles and techniques as they apply to successful arts institutions. Students will practice identification of current and potential audiences, how to attract media, create ongoing relationships with visitors and members, as well as successful communication within arts institution administrations

This paper proposes the application of mediated learning experience (MLE) as a foundation of the therapeutic process. It brings Feuerstein’s theory of structural cognitive modifiability (SCM) and its application MLE into an integrative model of social cognition that links MLE to the developmental and outcome objectives of a therapeutic interaction. The role of cognitive functions is described, and process concepts are linked to the model, including the nature responses (content and process), the quality of responding (implicit vs. explicit), and a parallel process of development. The application of MLE is linked the developmental phases of a therapeutic relationship.

Learning geographic information systems have various abilities in collecting various spatial data formats, analyzing, displaying, and storing spatial data. The potential of GIS learning in geography is quite large, but its influence on spatial thinking still needs to be studied more deeply. Three problem formulations in this study are: (1) how is the influence of cognitive domain on GIS learning on students 'spatial thinking in SMA/MAN Banda Aceh?, (2) what is the influence of affective domain on GIS learning on students' spatial thinking in SMA/MAN Banda Aceh?, and (3) how does the influence of psychomotor in GIS learning on students' spatial thinking in SMA/MAN Banda Aceh?. This study uses a survey method, the study population is all students of the twelfth grade IPS program in nine SMA/MAN Banda Aceh City. The sampling technique uses stratified random sampling, considering that the population is relatively homogeneous, the research sample is 139 students. The data collection method uses a questionnaire. Data analysis uses simple linear regression. The results showed that: (1) the influence of cognitive domains of GIS learning gave a 75% role to students 'spatial thinking, (2) the effect of effective domains of GIS learning gave a role of 12.4% to students' spatial thinking, and (3) the influence of psychomotor domains GIS learning provides a role of 67.3% of students' spatial thinking

Models of Manipulation on Aggregation of Binary Evaluations

We study a general aggregation problem in which a society has to determine its position on each of several issues, based on the positions of the members of the society on those issues. There is a prescribed set of feasible evaluations, i.e., permissible combinations of positions on the issues. Among other things, this framework admits the modeling of preference aggregation, judgment aggregation, classification, clustering and facility location. An important notion in aggregation of evaluations is strategy-proofness. In the general framework we discuss here, several definitions of strategy-proofness may be considered. We present here 3 natural \textit{general} definitions of strategy-proofness and analyze the possibility of designing an annonymous, strategy-proof aggregation rule under these definitions

Tighter Relations Between Sensitivity and Other Complexity Measures

Sensitivity conjecture is a longstanding and fundamental open problem in the area of complexity measures of Boolean functions and decision tree complexity. The conjecture postulates that the maximum sensitivity of a Boolean function is polynomially related to other major complexity measures. Despite much attention to the problem and major advances in analysis of Boolean functions in the past decade, the problem remains wide open with no positive result toward the conjecture since the work of Kenyon and Kutin from 2004. In this work, we present new upper bounds for various complexity measures in terms of sensitivity improving the bounds provided by Kenyon and Kutin. Specifically, we show that deg(f)^{1-o(1)}=O(2^{s(f)}) and C(f) < 2^{s(f)-1} s(f); these in turn imply various corollaries regarding the relation between sensitivity and other complexity measures, such as block sensitivity, via known results. The gap between sensitivity and other complexity measures remains exponential but these results are the first improvement for this difficult problem that has been achieved in a decade.Comment: This is the merged form of arXiv submission 1306.4466 with another work.
