Considerando que é importante mobilizar os agentes locais para um caminho que deve ser comum, formataram-se vários momentos de reunião e discussão para, em conjunto, verter para "Castelo Branco Agenda XXI" um Plano de Acção com medidas que unam e co-responsabilizem todas as entidades neste processo de crescimento, sob o padrão inovador que o caráter prático e planeado de uma Agenda Local impõe. As reuniões sectoriais e de proximidade que foram promovidas e o período de consulta do Diagnóstico para a Sustentabilidade do concelho, possibilitaram identificar os caminhos da Sustentabilidade de Castelo Branco, que são apresentados neste relatório.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Chemical Composition And Ph Of The Meat Of Broilers Submitted To Pre-slaughter Heat Stress

In order to evaluate the chemical composition and pH of chicken meat subjected to heat stress during the pre-slaughter rest time, an experiment was conducted in a slaughterhouse. Twenty-five birds were randomly selected and housed in rooms without air conditioning for a 3-hour period, with an average temperature of 33°C and relative humidity of 83%. After slaughter, the carcasses were deboned and prime cuts were chilled (between 0 and 4 °C) for 24 hours for analysis of moisture levels, protein, fat, ash, and pH. The humidity values were 72.80, 71.47, and 70.30%, protein values were 16.81, 14.90, and 15.10%, lipid values were 0.78, 3.30, and 5.80%, ash values were 0.81, 0.88, and 0.89%, and pH values were 5.30, 6.10, and 6.54 for breast, thigh, and drumstick, respectively. Heat stress for 3 hours before slaughter led to changes in the chemical composition and pH of the chicken, which establishes an anomaly in the flesh of the PSE type (pale, soft, and exudative). Does The Pain Disturb The Respiratory Function After Heart Surgeries? [a Dor Interfere Na Função Respiratória Após Cirurgias Cardíacas?]

Objective: The postoperative pain after heart surgeries had been often reported. Meager reports about respiratory function and pain correlation had been reported. The aim of this study is to assess the pain intensity and location during hospital stay and its effect on respiratory function in patients undergone elective heart surgery. Methods: Respiratory function (lung volumes, respiratory muscle strength and peak expiratory flow) was assessed at the preoperative and postoperative times (1, 3 and 5 days) by ventilometer, manovacuometer and peak flow meter measurements. The assessment of pain intensity was performed with a visual analogue scale for pain. Results: The majority of pain site was on sternotomy incision (50% of patients) and the intensity was higher at the first postoperative day (8.32 by visual scale measurement). All respiratory variables remained lower than to preoperative period at fifth postoperative time (P >0.05), with exception for respiratory rate. The pain and maximal inspiratory pressure showed a negative correlation at the first postoperative day (P = 0.019).
