AbstractPurpose of this study is to determine primary school students are mainly orientated out-of-school time activities by whom. Sample of the research consists of 42 schools and 1530 students. Findings of research: 1- Students generally are not orientated out-of-school time activities. They participate in activities which they have selected. 2- There is no significant relationship between gender and orientation of students to out-of-school time activities. 3- There is a significant relationship between school, friend and self orientation of students to out-of school time activities and number of siblings. However there is no significant relationship with family orientation. 4- There is no significant relationship between school, friend and self orientation of students to out-of-school activities and residential area of students. But there is a significant relationship between family orientation and residential area. 5- School orientation to out-of-school activities and economic condition of family has no significant relationship. There is a significant relationship between friend, family orientation, self-orientation and economic condition of family. 6- In orientation of students to out-of-school time activities, there is a significant relationship between educational status of family and school, friend orientation and self-orientation

Automated Crowdturfing Attacks and Defenses in Online Review Systems

Malicious crowdsourcing forums are gaining traction as sources of spreading misinformation online, but are limited by the costs of hiring and managing human workers. In this paper, we identify a new class of attacks that leverage deep learning language models (Recurrent Neural Networks or RNNs) to automate the generation of fake online reviews for products and services. Not only are these attacks cheap and therefore more scalable, but they can control rate of content output to eliminate the signature burstiness that makes crowdsourced campaigns easy to detect. Using Yelp reviews as an example platform, we show how a two phased review generation and customization attack can produce reviews that are indistinguishable by state-of-the-art statistical detectors. We conduct a survey-based user study to show these reviews not only evade human detection, but also score high on "usefulness" metrics by users. Finally, we develop novel automated defenses against these attacks, by leveraging the lossy transformation introduced by the RNN training and generation cycle. We consider countermeasures against our mechanisms, show that they produce unattractive cost-benefit tradeoffs for attackers, and that they can be further curtailed by simple constraints imposed by online service providers

Analysis of MEFV exon methylation and expression patterns in familial Mediterranean fever

<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>MEFV mutations and decreased expression level of the gene are related to FMF pathology. DNA methylation at CpG islands is a well-known mechanism for transcriptional silencing. MEFV has a CpG island, spanning a part of the first intron and the whole of the second exon of the gene covering 998 bp region. Here, we tested the hypothesis that the MEFV transcript level in FMF patients correlates with its methylation level, and methylation, by allowing transcription silencing, has a role in FMF ethiopathogenesis.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>The study group was composed of pediatric FMF patients (N = 51) and age-gender matched healthy controls (N = 21). The relative expression level of MEFV was assessed via quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and bisulfite sequencing (BS) was performed to analyse the methylation level quantitatively.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>MEFV expression in FMF patients were decreased compared to healthy controls (<it>P </it>= 0.031). Methylation level of exon 2 of MEFV was found to be slightly higher in FMF patients compared to healthy controls (76% versus 74%) (<it>P </it>= 0.049). The expression level of the MEFV was negatively correlated with the methylation level of the CpG island in both FMF and healthy controls groups (cor = -0.29, <it>P </it>= 0.041) but more so in the FMF only group (cor = -0.36, <it>P </it>= 0.035).</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>In this study, the relation between reduced MEFV expression level and FMF was confirmed. Observed slight increase in methylation in FMF patients, and correlation of methylation with expression might be indicative of its role in FMF, however a larger dataset is needed to confirm our preliminary findings.</p

The arterial distribution and size of greater omentum

The greater omentum (omentum gastrocolica) is a filmy apron draped over the transverse colon and coils of the small intestine. Clinical importance of the omentum have increased in recent years as it is a unique structure being highly vascular. Intact omentum has been used for a variety of clinical reasons which included attempts to increase blood flow to the ischemic heart, brain and legs; to prevent or repair vesicovaginal fistulas; to protect at operation previously irradiated pelvic organs at operation; to treat lymphedema and hydrocephalus; to repair radionecrosis of the chest wall or flexion creases for reconstruction of the breast and to protect a previously irradiated carotid artery after radical neck dissection. The arterial structure of omentum influences the manner in which the omentum can be a lengthened. Also, it is important to know the omental limits before laparotomy. The main aim of this research was to determine the range of lenght and width of omentum and then to correlate them with the height of the the person present. Thus one is able to predict the size and limits of omentum laparotomy. In this study, involving a series of 107 cases, the size of omentum was determined and the types of vascularity were assessed. Correlations between height and omental width, patients' height and omental length were calculated
