Regulation of emerging issues needs new forms of governance. This new governance includes soft law approach, dialogues, public engagement, frames of research set by firms and ethics in forms of codes of conduct among other things and, in interaction with the recent dynamics of nanotechnologies, it integrates into a `governance landscapeÂŽ. This article first summarises and assesses the forms of and reasons for the turn to governance at different issues. Then it interprets both the frame jointly set by DuPont and EDF as well as the NanoCode recommendation worked out by the EC. Reflecting on some views that identify this recent development in the emerging regulation of nanotechnologies as a step in direction toward innovation governance in this field it expresses both the endorsement of this view and some doubts that may invite to paint a bit more differentiated picture of the recent dynamic. ``The regulatory challenge isÂŽÂŽ (...) ``to ensure that society can benefit from novel applications of nanotechnology, whilst a high level of protection of health, safety and the environment is maintained.ÂŽÂŽ (Commission 2008, P. 4

The Lake Balaton Institute of Limnology of the Ecological Research Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Arts and Sciences is 90 years old. The Balaton Limnology Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Arts and Sciences celebrated the 90th anniversary of its opening on the 8th of September, 2017, in Tihany, where LĂĄszlĂł FĂ©sĂŒs, chairman of the Biology Section of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences greeted the event with the address printed here. The institute, originally called "The Hungarian Biology Research Institute" was the very first independent research institution in Hungary, established and opened in 1927 by the famous politician KĂșnĂł KlĂ©belsberg who is also highly respected for developing university campuses and many new elementary schools. During nine decades the institute attracted leading life scientists from Hungary as well as abroad, its research areas covered the major trends in biology including broad topics in botany, zoology, molecular biology, neurobiology and has had a crucial role saving Lake Balaton from ecological catastrophes
