Contesting Islams: The emergence of the revisionist movement
This paper examines the trajectories in which Islamic thought manifested itself in state politics in some of the states of the MENA region in light of the Arab Spring. The purpose of this paper is to highlight an ongoing ideological shift in Islamic political thought from a radical to a more secular moderate line of thought, which has been consolidating over the past decade. This paper argues that such an ideological shift is taking place in the form of revisionist movements which were able to engage in state politics during the Arab Spring. In addition, this paper asserts the need for the survival and continuity of these moderate Islamic powers as they prove that a secular moderate Islamic model does in fact exist and could be an alternative to radical Islamic discourse. In addition, this paper argues that the overthrowing of Morsi in a coup d’état in Egypt may lead to re-radicalization and would cripple the evolution and progress of the moderate line of thought within Islam. This may thus lead to the once curbed power of religious parties to resolve to the previously adopted radical mode of thought.Instituto de Relaciones Internacionale

The sample of the study included (55) students from Mafraq first Secondary School for Boys selected using convenient sampling method in the first semester of the school year 2020-2021 distributed into two sections. One of them was randomly selected to represent the experimental group and totaled (28) male students taught using semiotics strategy; the other represented the control group and included (27) male students taught using traditional teaching strategy. Validity and reliability were verified using test-retest, Cronbach Alpha Coefficient, and evaluators\u27 agreement. Data were analyzed by using means, standard deviations, T-test, One Way ANOVA, MANCOVA, and Etasquare to define the effect size for the semiotics strategy. Furthermore, listening classes\u27 notes were prepared according to the semiotics strategy in two lessons Palm Tree and Love with Forgiveness . The results of the study indicated statistically significant differences at (α= 0.05)in the total listening comprehension skills level and its individual domains (Literal, Inferential, Critical), in favor of the experimental group

Transnational Hardcore Competition Cartels: Criminalization According to Transnational Criminal Law
This thesis provides a comprehensive discussion of the criminal character of transnational hardcore competition cartels in accordance with a transnational criminal law framework. It examines different sources of international law, including customary law, general principles of law, treaty law, national law, and soft law. It concludes that transnational hardcore competition cartels are transnational crimes with domestic concerns and that they are prohibited and criminalized based on national criminal law. The thesis justifies criminalizing transnational hardcore competition cartels based on well-established criminal law theories, including utilitarianism, legal liberalism, legal moralism, and legal perfectionism. Further discussion focuses on the appropriate type of sanction, whether administrative or criminal. The thesis examines this issue based on two well-established sentencing theories: retributivism and general deterrence. The thesis suggests that the criminal sanction of imprisonment is desirable based on both proportionality grounds, in which the sanction fits the severity of the crime, and practical considerations, in which imprisonment serves as an effective sanction for suppressing those crimes
