Who receives the Earned Income Tax Credit in California?
The federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), and its state counterpart, the California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC), provided low-income Californians with a nearly 1 billion. This report provides an important roadmap for policymakers interested in understanding who this important anti-poverty program reaches in California. This work has been supported, in part, by the University of California Multicampus Research Programs and Initiatives grant MRP-19-600774
GitHub and Jekyll for Publishing GIS Workshop Content
In this article, we describe GitHub in simple terms and demonstrate its practical value as a platform for delivering workshop instruction. This article stems from a virtual pre-conference workshop we delivered at the 2020 annual meeting of the Western Association of Map Libraries (WAML). We describe an easily replicated workflow for publishing workshop materials and documentation to the web using GitHub Pages and provide a GitHub repository that readers of this article can copy and customize to suit their own workshop needs
On-line evolutionary algorithm guidance for multiple missiles against multiple targets
This paper details the application of a Cooperative Coevolution On-Line Evolutionary Algorithm (CCOLEA) to the guidance of a swarm of multiple missiles, against multiple targets. The CCOLEA trades the spatial distribution of missiles at impact, against the cost of re-aiming the missiles' seekers onto their final targets. A parallel approach is used where each missile optimises its own performance, based on limited information from the other missiles. The decision making processis thus distributed between the missiles giving distributed coordination
Pd‐Catalyzed C−C, C−N, and C−O Bond‐Forming Difunctionalization Reactions of Alkenes Bearing Tethered Aryl/Alkenyl Triflates
Over the past few years our group has described a new type of alkene difunctionalization reaction in which aryl or alkenyl triflates bearing tethered alkenes are coupled with various nucleophiles to afford carbocyclic products. The products are formed in moderate to good chemical yield, with generally high levels of stereoselectivity. Our progress to date in this area, which includes reactions of amine, alcohol, enolate, and indole nucleophiles, is described in this review.Peer Reviewedhttps://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/154890/1/ijch201900108_am.pdfhttps://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/154890/2/ijch201900108.pd
Ohio State's Athletic Carbon Offset Plan
ENR 2367This project is an outlined plan to create carbon neutrality in the Ohio State athletics department. Using carbon-offsetting and community service, this plan hopes to reduce the athletic carbon footprint of 3500-tons.Academic Major: Environmental Policy and Decision MakingAcademic Major: Environmental ScienceAcademic Major: Geograph
