THE CORRELATION BETWEEN STUDENTS’ GRAMMAR MASTERY AND THEIR PERFORMANCE IN WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT AT THE TENTH CLASS OF SMK MUHAMMADIYAH 1 METRO ACADEMIC YEAR 2012/2013
Writing is a language skill that is used for indirect communication to convey a message or information to the readers. In writing a text, we can explore our ideas, feelings and thoughts which are arranged in words, sentences, and paragraph by using eyes, brain and hand. In writing a text, we must be able to use a good language and we also must be able to arrange good sentences grammatically in order the readers understand about the content of our writing. Besides that, if the students will make a sentences or paragraph, they must have knowledge about tenses. The objectives of the research are to find out the students’ simple grammar mastery and their performance in writing descriptive and also to find out whether or not there is a correlation between the students’ grammar mastery and their performance in writing descriptive. The subjects of this research are the tenth grade of SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Metro (class XA1 and class XAP). In this research, the writer used descriptive quantitative method because the final score of variable is number and the analysis is using statistic. The researcher tried to analyze the current data about students’ grammar mastery and their performance in writing descriptive. In collecting data, the researcher administered two kinds of test. They are simple present tense test and writing test. The simple present tense test are consists of 20 items of multiple choice and the writing test, the students choose one of topics from three topics. The result of this research shows that the students’ simple present tense mastery was middle. It can be seen from the average of simple present tense test is 70.6. The students’ performance in writing descriptive was middle. It can be seen from the average of writing descriptive test is 74.9. The conclusion above was from result of data analysis, it was found that writing descriptive affected by simple present tense mastery
Analisis Pemahaman Siswa dalam Operasi Hitung Penjumlahan Bilangan Bulat Menggunakan Garis Bilangan
The purpose of this study is to give students an understanding of the operations of adding integers by using a number line. There are some students who find it difficult and wrong with the sum of integers. The method used interviews, observations, tests and then the data were analyzed with descriptive qualitative. In learning mathematics students do not fully understand the concept in problem solving. Based on the results of interviews, observations and tests that students' understanding of the operations of adding integers using lines says it is easier for students to understand than not using numbers
Is the Roux Limb a Determinant for Meal Size After Gastric Bypass Surgery?
The Roux-Y gastric bypass (RYGBP) is an effective weight-reducing procedure but the involved mechanisms of action are obscure. The Roux limb is the intestinal segment that following surgery is the primary recipient for food intake. The aims of the study were to explore the mechanosensory and biomechanical properties of the Roux limb and to make correlations with preferred meal size. Ten patients participated and were examined preoperatively, 6 weeks and 1 year after RYGBP. Each subject ingested unrestricted amounts of a standardized meal and the weight of the meal was recorded. On another study day, the Roux limb was subjected to gradual distension by the use of an intraluminal balloon. Luminal volume–pressure relationships and thresholds for induction of sensations were monitored. At 6 weeks and 1 year post surgery, the subjects had reduced their meal sizes by 62% and 41% (medians), respectively, compared to preoperative values. The thresholds for eliciting distension-induced sensations were strongly and negatively correlated to the preferred meal size. Intraluminal pressure during Roux limb distension, both at low and high balloon volumes, correlated negatively to the size of the meal that the patients had chosen to eat. The results suggest that the Roux limb is an important determinant for regulating food intake after Roux-Y bypass bariatric surgery

Pengaruh Media Konkret terhadap Hasil Belajar IPA pada Siswa Kelas IV SDN Bencongan 6 Kabupaten Tangerang
The purpose of this study was to find out whether learning science in the experimental class was different from learning science in the control class. Control Group Design Not Equivalent to Quasi Experimental Design is the research methodology used. A procedure called sampling makes use of multiple samples. The population of this research is 70 students of class IV. 35 students from class IV B became the control group, while 35 students from class IV C became the experimental group. Data collection techniques include tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. It can be concluded from the posttest findings that tangible learning materials have an impact on science learning outcomes for fourth grade students at SDN Bencongan 6 based on statistical analysis using the t-test at a significance level = 0.05% obtained tcount (4.10) > ttable (1.99)
