Application of the Temporal Database Technology in the Development of Latvian Railway Information Systems

    Get PDF
The paper presents the research of temporal data usage in the information systems (IS) for railway transport. In the research the IS artifact building phase has been executed. The models and methods oriented at the operation with the temporal objects of the railway transport system have been designed. The work takes into consideration the problems of the temporal objects presentation in the relational databases, as well as the problems of provision of their integrity and the questions of interaction with them. The investigation results have been employed in the development of the interactive passenger train schedule IS for the Latvian Railway

Application of the Single Index Model for Forecasting of the Inland Conveyances

    No full text
In this paper the regression models used for description and forecasting of the inland rail passenger conveyances of the regions of Latvia were considered. Two estimation approaches were compared: the classical linear regression model and the single index model. Various tests for hypothesis of explanatory variables insignificance and model correctness have been lead, and the cross-validation approach has been carried out as well. The analysis has shown obvious preference of the single index model

Stochastic inventory control model with two stages in ordering process

    No full text
The purpose of offered work is the construction of a stochastic single‐product inventory control model for the chain “producer – wholesaler – customer”. Given situation takes place in many transport and industrial companies. Criterion of optimization is minimum of average expenses for goods holding, ordering and losses from deficit per a time unit. Comparative Multi-Criteria Assessment of Nano-Coating Technologies

    No full text
The paper present an approach of the comparative assessing the efficiency of nano-coating technologies. As an example the comparative assessment of two alternative methods of applying nano-coating (method of ionic condensation and bombing and method of magnetron dispersion) is considered. The vectors of priorities for two levels of criteria hierarchy are calculated foe these methods. The practical recommendations on implementation of the considered technologies are developed on the basis of the obtained results
