Influence of environmental factors on properties changes of packaging materials made from polyethylene

In this research, properties change of packaging materials made from low density polyethylene and high density polyethylene under the influence of environmental factors was investigated. Samples of four packaging materials: bags made on the basis of low density polyethylene, high density polyethylene, polyethylene made of secondary stocks and high density polyethylene distributed in „The Body Shop“ stores, which has materials, stimulating its fast decomposition influenced by the environmental factors were chosen for the analysis. The analysis of the initial samples of all four types of packaging materials aged in soil for 500 and 1000 hours was carried out. For the evaluation of soil impact on glass transition temperature (Tg) and mass loss of all studied packaging materials differential scanning calorimeter DSC method was used; also, the change of density and water sorption of these samples was investigatedVytauto Didžiojo universiteta
