The Geographic Structure of Milk Hauling Cost and Efficiencies in New York State

R.B. 94-03A survey of the milk haulers in the Northeast was conducted in June 1992 to assess the status of the industry. Detailed information on characteristics of the hauling businesses as well as the equipment operated was collected. Data submitted by milk haulers with New York addresses was isolated from the survey data set and analyzed on a regional basis. Some of the general topics addressed include the number, size, and location of hauling businesses, wages paid to hired drivers, and the cost of milk hauling equipment. A section is devoted to measures of hauling efficiency. Two sections review the costs involved in milk hauling, the first of which is more general in its approach. The second cost-based section investigates differences in hauling costs between small-and large-sized milk haulers

Intrinsic dimension estimation for locally undersampled data

Identifying the minimal number of parameters needed to describe a dataset is a challenging problem known in the literature as intrinsic dimension estimation. All the existing intrinsic dimension estimators are not reliable whenever the dataset is locally undersampled, and this is at the core of the so called curse of dimensionality. Here we introduce a new intrinsic dimension estimator that leverages on simple properties of the tangent space of a manifold and extends the usual correlation integral estimator to alleviate the extreme undersampling problem. Based on this insight, we explore a multiscale generalization of the algorithm that is capable of (i) identifying multiple dimensionalities in a dataset, and (ii) providing accurate estimates of the intrinsic dimension of extremely curved manifolds. We test the method on manifolds generated from global transformations of high-contrast images, relevant for invariant object recognition and considered a challenge for state-of-the-art intrinsic dimension estimators

Soft skills regarding technology and information are a very important role and are much needed today. Based on this background, learning about interface design is very important, especially for students who are in school. Learning about information technology for high school students/equivalents is important to apply and implement, in line with the demands for mastery of Information Technology in various aspects of life. This activity aims to encourage students through workshops in designing interface designs and making a simple web. Activities carried out in the form of training to develop interface designs and web-based applications. Material regarding interface design is delivered using the Figma application. The next material is an explanation of material regarding web programming which begins with an introduction to web programming, Create, Read, Update, Delete (CRUD), and object-oriented programming (OOP). From the implementation of the activities, it was found that UI web design workshops can be used to help students develop skills and portfolios. This workshop activity has also achieved the output target of 84%, so it can be said that this program is acceptable to the participants

    Virtually Abelian Quantum Walks

We introduce quantum walks on Cayley graphs of non-Abelian groups. We focus on the easiest case of virtually Abelian groups, and introduce a technique to reduce the quantum walk to an equivalent one on an Abelian group with coin system having larger dimension. We apply the technique in the case of two quantum walks on virtually Abelian groups with planar Cayley graphs, finding the exact solution.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figure
