Dental health in patients with inflammatory bowel disease and the role of biomarkers in diagnosis

Because the oral cavity is the entrance portal and part of the gastrointestinal tract, oral manifestations occur in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Oral manifestations of IBD manifest as a systemic complication or extraintestinal manifestation that may precede, exacerbate, or regress with changes in disease severity. Some of these manifestations are aphthous ulcers, gingivitis, periodontitis, halitosis and others. The oral cavity is one of the most affected areas in patients with CKD - 25-30% of patients. The aim of the present study is to investigate the relationship between dental health and chronic inflammatory bowel disease and the role of biomarkers in their diagnosis. For the period between December 2020 and March 2021 is conducted a systematic analysis of scientific publications in the available databases (PubMed, BioMedCentral, ScienceDirect, Scopus, Web of Science), examining the relationship between dental health and chronic inflammatory bowel disease and the role of biomarkers in their diagnosis

A combination of pathologies - facet joint synovial cyst, epidural lipomatosis and conjoined nerve root anomaly in the lumbar spine of a 45-year-old patient. A case report

Facet joint synovial cysts are abnormal fluid-filled cystic formations that develop from a degenerative process of the facet joints. Spinal epidural lipomatosis is a process of excessive accumulation of fat in the epidural space. Conjoined nerve root (CNR) anomaly refers to an anatomical variation in which two adjacent nerve roots share a common dural sleeve. The aforementioned three rare pathologies cause the same pathological process of stenosis, therefore compressing the nervous structures. A 45-year-old female patient was admitted to the Department of Neurosurgery with severe low back and radicular pain, and numbness along her left leg. Antalgic posture, painful paravertebral muscle tenderness, L4 radiculopathy, and L5 and S1 dermatome hypoesthesia on the left as well as positive straight leg raising sign (Laseque) were present upon examination. CT and MRI scanning showed stenosis on L4-L5 level caused by bilateral synovial cyst formation. Microsurgical decompression by foraminotomy at L4-L5 level on the left with dissection of the synovial cyst and epidural lipomatosis was performed. In the course of the operation CNR anomaly was discovered. The complete decompression alleviated the symptoms and after 3 uneventful postoperative days the patient was discharged. Spinal stenosis causing compression upon nervous structures is a process that could be caused by a number of conditions. The incidence of rare pathologies and anomalies or even the more rarely occurring combination of them must be considered on daily basis in the clinical practice in order to make the correct diagnosis and plan the best possible treatment for the patient

Automatic Dimension Measurement on CNC Lathes Using the Cutting Tool

AbstractIn the paper the possibilities of measuring the dimensions of parts using the cutting tool that had machined the surfaces of the part are investigated. Described are the principal scheme of the measuring device and its application for dimensional measurements. The method leads to more efficient machining on CNC lathes. The application of the method results in automatic dimensional control, which otherwise would require specialised measuring equipment or would lead to increased idle time of the machine tool, automatic dynamic setup of the cutting tool, and automatic tolerance assurance using check-up datum surfaces. Reported are the theoretical analysis of the measurement errors and the method of predicting the accuracy of the measurements using the cutting tool itself. Presented are experimental results of applying the system for direct dimensional measurements using the cutting tool on CNC lathes

The routes of critical metaphysics: Valentin Kanawrow’s contribution

ABSTRACT:The aim of the present text is to reflect on Kanawrow’s Tetralogy as an original approach to Kantian critcal metaphysics with a view to achieving the greatest clarity level of theoretical philosophising in formal and conceptual sense. Special light will be thrown here on some logical aspects of the transition from intentionality to intensionality. Transcendental synthesis is explicated toroughtly as a generative mechanism towards initially independent objectness: the virtual topos of thinking needs an emphasis on its metaphysically clarified purity. In accordance with my own approach the transition from a priori to a posteriori should be clearly explicated as a transition from intentionality to intensionality – to regional (actual) human experience which falls in the range of presumed open valences of thinking. The newly considered virtualistic phenomenon is in use in accordance with transcendentalising of actual experience. In addition, logical functionality of thinking receives a cognitive significance against our actual experience. Se esclarecerán especialmente algunos aspectos lógicos de la transición de la intencionalidad hacia la intensionalidad. La síntesis trascendental se explica como un mecanismo generativo hacia la objetividad inicialmente independiente: el topos virtual de pensamiento necesita un énfasis en su pureza que es metafísicamente aclarada. De acuerdo con mi propio enfoque la transición de a priori a a posteriori debe estar claramente explicada como una transición de la intencionalidad a la intensionalidad - hacia la (real) experiencia regional humana que se encuentra en el rango de valencias abiertas presumidas del pensamiento. El considerado virtualistic phenomenon está en uso, de conformidad con transcendentalisacion de la experiencia actual. Además, la funcionalidad lógica del pensamiento recibe un significado cognitivo en contra de nuestra experiencia real. A Theoretical Information Approach to Ring and Total Aromaticity in Ground and Excited States

Applying the Shannon equation to the density matrix of a molecule, an information index is specified for the quantitative estimation of the ring and total aromaticity of molecules in ground · and excited states. The approach is applicable within each LCAO- method. The information index reproduces well the classification of molecules as aromatic, nonaromatic, and antiaromatic. It also correlates with results of other authors obtained by radically different approaches. A tendency is found for the aromaticity of aromatic molecules to decrease and of antiaromatic molecules to increase when the molecule is excited to the S1-state
