One-pot three-component synthesis of some new azo-pyrazoline derivatives

    Get PDF
The starting material azo-benzyloxy acetophenone (2) has been synthesized in three steps; the direct diazotization of p-aminoacetophenone and its coupling reaction with m-cresol gave azo-acetophenone (1), which was benzylated with p-chlorobenzylchloride to give the starting material (2). The later compound was subjected to the one-pot three-component condensation reaction with substituted benzaldehydes and phenylhydrazine in the presence of sodium hydroxide to afford the target molecule azo-pyrazoline derivatives (3a-e) in high yields and short reaction times. The structures of the synthesized compounds were elucidated by using FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and 13C DEPT 135 spectra

Introduction: Substance use during the perinatal period is a significant public health concern, as it can have potential adverse effects on maternal and neonatal health outcomes. Unexpectedly, no previous studies have been conducted to assess the prevalence of substance use during the perinatal period among Ethiopian women. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the magnitude of substance use and its determinant factors during the perinatal period.Method: We conducted a hospital-based descriptive cross-sectional study among a systematically selected sample of 418 women who attended perinatal care between May and July 2022. Data were collected using an interviewer-administered structured questionnaire. Multivariate logistic regression analysis, with a 95% confidence interval and p-values less than 0.05, was employed to identify factors associated with substance use behavior.Result: The prevalence of perinatal substance use was found to be 38.3% (95% CI: 33.5–43.5). Of the women who used substances, 109 (26.1%) reported using chat, 46 (11.0%) reported alcohol consumption, and 5 (1.20%) reported using shisha. Factors significantly associated with substance use behavior during the perinatal period included a history of obstetric complications (AOR = 1.722, 95% CI: 1.022–2.902), the presence of chronic medical conditions (AOR = 3.784, 95% CI: 2.164–6.615), experiencing physical abuse (AOR = 5.323, 95% CI: 2.171–13.050), depression (AOR = 1.963, 95% CI: 1.028–3.749), and experiencing sleep disturbances (AOR = 2.016, 95% CI: 0.975–4.168). Conversely, giving birth to a live baby was found to be a protective factor against substance use behavior (AOR = 0.389, 95% CI: 0.187–0.810).Discussion: This study highlights a high prevalence of substance abuse among women during the perinatal period. In light of these findings, a comprehensive approach is recommended to address perinatal substance use among Ethiopian women. This should include the integration of preventive educational programs into perinatal care

The national heritage is considered important pillars of tourism development, Tourism is also considered a mean of spreading mutual cultures between countries, Further, tourism in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan represents one of the most important activities that work on development and prosperity. Jordan hosts a number of important tourist archaeological sites, such as the pink city of Petra;Jerash; the Roman amphitheater, these places are considered a destination for all tourists. Tourism facilities are considered one of the components of civilization and a vital element in its constructions, this requires the interior designer to link the surrounding environment with the interior design to maintain its originality and heritage identity Therefore, the interior designer goal is to create a design vision to attract the tourist and push him to interact with the surrounding environment, Moreover, many tourist facilities have appeared in Jordan, but it lacks the local identity in interior design and it are not connected to the surrounding environment,Such facilities also established on architectural models that do not suit the cultural and civilizational richness of Jordan, Therefore This research aims to create a design vision to employ Jordanian heritage in interior design and furniture for tourist facilities to preserve its originality and identity, and creating a distinctive and special character for the interior design stemming from the surrounding environment;as well as supporting the functional, aesthetic and cultural aspects of the design process, Hence the importance of research lies in analyzing the design elements of Jordanian heritage and reviving its design lines to be used in interior design in order to develop aesthetic sense and general taste in the community, which leads to increase the elements of tourist attractions for tourist facilities, The research went on to study and analyze the heritage elements and reduce lines that can be employed in interior design supporting the aesthetic values of the place, this research has reached a design vision to employ Jordanian heritage in interior design in the hotel accommodation room, The researcher also presented a proposal to design a hotel residence room that employed design lines inspired by Jordanian heritage in a reduced style to suit contemporary life and achieve functional and aesthetic aspects in tourist facilities. So, the research leads to a vision of design style for tourist facilities with a heritage identity has been drawn through two main directions:First: studying heritage elements and analyzing its design lines

To assess the biological potential of an Er complex that contains a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, various techniques such as multispectral and molecular modeling procedures were utilized to examine its DNA-binding ability, BSA binding affinity, antimicrobial effects, and anticancer properties. By analyzing fluorescent information and employing the vant’ Hoff equation, important parameters such as the innate docking coefficient (Kb), Stern-Volmer coefficient (KSV), and thermodynamic properties including modifications in liberated energy (ΔG°), enthalpy (∆H°), and entropy (∆S°) were determined. The trial findings suggest that the compound can bind to DNA, primarily through groove binding. Additionally, the engagement between the Er compound and the protein BSA was examined using emission spectroscopy technique, revealing a powerful binding affinity between the compound and BSA. The Er complex binds to BSA primarily via hydrogen links and van der Waals forces, as indicated by the adverse values of ΔH° and ∆S°. Through a static quenching process, the complex significantly reduces the intrinsic fluorescence of BSA. Molecular binding calculations and rivalrous binding trials confirm that this compound dock to hydrophobic remains found in site III of BSA. Additionally, the Er complex demonstrates promising results in terms of its anticancer and antimicrobial activities based on screening tests
